Do these treads have glue backing to secure them to the stair?
Answer by ChewySep 02, 2020
These treads does not feature a glue backing. They are built with a real rubber backing for a firm grip.

Will the secure tightly on concrete steps
Answer by ChewyMay 29, 2021
These stair treads have rubber nubs on the back to hold in place, but we have heard many use a double sided sticky tape to secure.

How easy are they to clean, specifically from fur?
Answer by ChewyMar 24, 2022
These stair treads can be easily hosed off and hung to line dry.

My dog often tracks mud in from the yard into the house. Would these rugs also double as a paw wipe of some sort if placed on the deck stairs leading in the house? Can they catch mud and dirt?
Answer by ChewyNov 13, 2021
All-weather indoor/outdoor stair tread mat provides protection from wet, slippery, and splintered steps.

Dangerous. Not as advertised. Slide right off with little dogs

Bought these for two outdoor deck stairs for our 17 pound dog in order to ensure he won’t slip. However, the mats/treads immediately slid when he pushed off to get to the next step. These are useless and also potentially dangerous. They might be good for humans or really big dogs, but they are not as advertised as a no slip step to protect animals. Trying to return for a refund.

Really helps my older dog on the stairs, doesn’t slip

Very happy with this. Good quality. Doesn’t slip. Really helps my older dog on the hardwood stairs, and can be picked up leaving no trace.

Lose Traction Over Time

I bought these two years ago and they worked great up until a couple of months ago, they started losing traction and need to be replaced as they have become hazardous.

Made the stairs safer and look a little better

When I first got these I wasn't too sure about them. I've had them for over a month now and we really like them. My dogs are still pups (1.5 yrs) and they try to fly down these steps. I was afraid they might hurt themselves. The steps were slippery. So I installed these stair treads and it is so much better. You have to get carpet tape and put under to hold them down, but it works great. The stairs actually look nicer and the dogs and the rest of us (;) can get a grip and not slip!

Creates tripping hazard

These are attractive, but do not lay flat, thus creating a tripping hazard. I got them for our senior springer spaniel, with arthritis, who is having difficulty with the steps outside the front door. I imagined that stair treads might help him with traction. If they had some sort of adhesive, they might work better, but where these are outdoors, it probably would wear away, especially with Maine weather. Unfortunately, I am returning them.

Unfortunately, not worth the cost

The positives: *These are very thick, and appear to be very sturdy *No glue on the back means no damage to the stairs The negatives: *Do not stay in place - I see that there are mixed reviews on this, and I'm wondering if the type of stairs make a difference? We have highly polished, stained wood stairs, and they can't seem to get through one walk-over with staying in place. HOWEVER, since I didn't want to waste the money, I put them outside on non-glossy painted stairs, and they seemed to stay in place much better. Unfortunately, for the cost, I would not purchase them again.

May need rug tape

These rugs came very stiff in a concave shape and wouldnt stay in place. I used rug tape that helped a little but they still eventually slid back into the riser. Eventually I bought new rug tape and everything is good. Perhaps I should have rolled them up in the opposite direction and put them back in the box until they laid flat. I'm happy with them now but still need the tape as my Shepherd and med sized rescue run down the steps whenever someone comes to the door.

don't stick to painted steps

I have gotten these in the past and they were great on poly hardwood floor steps. But this time I got them for painted steps and they do not stick to steps all that great. Actually, they don't stick at all :(

Slippery stair treads

We have an older dog needing treads on the stairs to reduce slipping and help with traction. These treads are OK for that purpose. The problem is our dog tries to go around them. We are not sure this is the best solution. They are pricey for just 4 rubber treads.
