Blue and Gold approved bells

Our 32 year old blue and gold Macaw. Harley, loves his new toy. The fist thing that got him excited was the bell. He loves to make noise. We started by showing it to him and making the wooden blocks rattle and bells ring. We hung it in his room, outside the cage for a few days and played with him with it. Then we hung it on the outside of his cage. When we finally put it in his cage, after about a week, he immediately rang the bell. Now he's really enjoying playing with this toy. He is in a molting stage currently and really enjoys rubbing his back against it. It is the large toy, about 27 inches long, has a ton of wooden blocks, plastic balls, leather cords and Harley's favorite, 2 bells. I'm sure he will enjoy this toy for a long time.

I chose this product to try for my African Grey as it seemed to be the right size for him, and he loves bright colorful toys. It was an instant hit! While he usually takes a day or two to warm up to a new toy, but this time, he started inspecting it right away. It seems well-made, has strong leather strings that all the balls and wood pieces are attached to, and the little bell at the end of it has a rather deep sound and is not at all annoying (like some other toy bells) - more like a small cow-bell. He would barely ever stop playing with it, and still also pick up some of the parts of the toy that he had already chewed off and dropped. Unfortunately, it does not last very long. It took him three to four days to chew off all the wooden pieces, and about a week/ a week and a half to destroy the rest until only the strings were left. He still tries to play more with the balls; however, due to the hard plastic pieces that he keeps breaking off of them, I took them away from him now. This is also the only reason why I gave only four stars, as I am afraid that the plastic pieces breaking off of the balls, and the sharp edges on the balls might pose a risk for injury (or could be ingested). That aside, I would still buy it again and just keep a closer eye on when he takes on the balls.

When I first got this, I thought this is really big for a parakeet, but I hung it in their cage anyway. Then they didn't touch it for 3 or 4 days. I don't even think they looked at it and I thought, this doesn't seem to be going anyplace and then... On day 4 sometime they started chirping and climbing all over it. They ring the bells and pull on the leather pieces. We are in about a week or so now and they play with this everyday now and they really like chewing on the wood pieces. I don't think this toy was really meant for a parakeet, but do not be afraid to buy it for your parakeet because they love it more than most of their other toys.

Love,love the bright colors on this toy. It’s well made and our little birdie absolutely loves it! He loves to hide in between the bells and ring them. The blocks are a perfectly sized to “chew” on and the leather cord is great as it won’t fray or break as easy as twine.

I picked the large thinking it would be a smaller toy so it's really, bigger than him lol. It usually takes him several days to get used to a new toy so he hasnt really bothered with it much. But I assure you, once he figures out it isn't going to eat him, it will for sure get destroyed. Brightly colored and lots of options hehe.
