This is the perfect size for our African Grey. He had one for a long time and suddenly chewed it up. Time for a new one.
I ordered the perch to fit across my bird's 30 inch wide cage. However, the actual "perch" is 28 inches long and the fasteners, which attach outside the cage, are just over 2 inches long. So, it isn't long enough to span the width of the cage. So, if your cage is 28 inches long it should fit, but if it is any longer than that, you won't be able to attach it to the sides of the cage if you are trying to have it span the entire width. The manufacturer should make this clear - that a 30 inch long perch is too short for a 30 inch wide cage.
I usually buy Booda brand perches for my African Grey. I figured, "How different can they be? It's just some rope." Well, Kimba chewed through them in less than a month's time. To provide perspective, my Booda perches lasted almost 2 years and were about the same price. These are nice perches, but if your bird chews, they won't last very long. I would strongly urge seeking out the Booda perches.
