I think this would be AWESOME for small or medium parrots, even pet rats or sugar gliders.
But for large parrots like U2's and macaws, I would be realistic and accept that it will have a short life span.

Excellent -- my cockatiels LOVE this
I've filled this with Nutriberries and dried fruit and skewered fresh fruits above it. My birds loved it right away. They're eating a wider variety of fresh fruit

Bird products are expensive! I believe this will last for years. My young bird will not work for a treat she can't see. This clear forager is heavy duty acrylic
Bird products are expensive! I believe this will last for years. My young bird will not work for a treat she can't see. This clear forager is heavy duty acrylic and built to last. The saucer is her perch, but also catches the treat so her hard work is not in vain. Heavier fruit or veggies can also be mounted above the sphere making it very versatile. I have collected several styles of the caitec acrylic foragers. I can now teach her to forage for all her food without worrying whether she will go hungry from not finding it. The challenge can be increased by adding obstacles (ie, shredded paper or mounting in an awkward location) so she won't outgrow it. The acrylic is also great for outdoor enclosures. I really like caitec foragers!
