How do you get the treats inside the tumbler?

Answer by ChewyNov 03, 2021
This toy dispenses treats through a twistable piece. This piece can be removed to fill the toy.

What size bird is this designed for? I have a Goffin cockatoo.

Answer by ChewyNov 26, 2021
There is not a size recommendation for this toy. It is recommended for birds with intermediate to advanced-level foraging skills.

Our small Cockatoo rotates through his feeders regularly, and this one didn’t hold up for very long. The tube at the bottom is adjustable to three settings, and removes for filling. It’s held in by a small tension prong in the plastic. The plastic eventually gives and the tube falls out or can be pulled out by our bird, rendering the forager useless and the food falls out. It also squeaked REALLY badly when spinning, so we put a small amount of cooking oil on it to help and then it spun too easily and our cockatoo couldn’t get much food out as he spun it too aggressively. You should definitely put it over a bowl or tray, as the food flies out a lot as well. The prongs that hold it to the cage are kinda flimsy, they broke off on two similar foragers of the same fastener style. Very easy to over tighten to the cage as well to break the prongs accidentally. Honestly was great in the beginning, but became unusable faster than I would have liked.

Well made but difficult for bird to get treats from

I filled this with tiny pieces of walnuts, cashews, almonds etc and spun it several times before managing to get a piece to fall down the shute. Then it was difficult for my African Grey to retrieve it. Repeated this several times with same result. She tries to spin it but so far has been unable to get a piece to fall into the shute

Awesome! Great for All Med Size Parrots!

This hard to find puzzle toy is just what one of our rescued parrots needed, other rescue parrots here were jealous, so I bought a few more. Now everyone’s happy!
