This is a very well made toy, but I don't see how any bird of any size could reach in the deep hole to get the treats out. This product states it is for medium sized
This is a very well made toy, but I don't see how any bird of any size could reach in the deep hole to get the treats out. This product states it is for medium sized birds. Quakers to mini macaws. I have a green cheek conure which is a little smaller than a quaker but his head is too big for the hole on top and his beak obviously not long enough to reach any treats. The toy is bigger than my hand and has some weight to it. I know my bird tends to get a little aggressive with toys if they run out of treats so we can't let him have anything too heavy or hard that could smash into him if he fights it. This toy could knock over a large bird if it swung into them so I definitely can't recommend it for any sized bird. This company has a lot of interesting foraging toys some of which I love, but this one is a no for me.

This parrot toy had a different appearance my from my 40 year-old parrot's other toys so it took some time before he started to interact with it. He eventually faced his fears and began attempting to get the treats out and now he engages with the toy regularly. It appears sturdy and it is still intact and undamaged by chewing. The horizontal design offers a change from his vertical toys and he appears to enjoy hanging upside down on it.

Rather too large and heavy for parakeets or even cockatiels. Solid thick plastic that would be better suited to larger parrots. Somewhat difficult to clean without taking it apart but has Phillips head screws for this reason. I wish it had more colorful beads to jangle around inside but easily accommodates nuts and other treats to get birds' attention. Unfortunately, my parakeets seem rather scared of it and have kept their distance.
