This leash was made to withstand the strength of 2 large dogs, but has been used with smaller dogs. Some of our pet parents have noted that it could be a bit lighter for smaller breeds. Caldwell does offer a leash coupler that can split one manageable leash into two leashes: Caldwell's Original Two Dog Leash Coupler (Item #106444).

Is the clip small enough to fit a smaller dog’s harness loop?

The clip length is 2.5 inches or approximately 6 centimeters. The widest part of the actual clasp that would clip to the dog's harness is 8millimeters. It should fit most small dog harnesses with no issues.

I don’t typically write reviews but this leash has been such a game changer walking my two rowdy dogs who are always twisting and turning. My walks consisted of

I don’t typically write reviews but this leash has been such a game changer walking my two rowdy dogs who are always twisting and turning. My walks consisted of me untangling the leashes the entire walk. I previously had another two dog leash but the part where it splits was too low, so my dogs were always running into each other. This leash splits closer to the handle which is ideal. I also thought that having a longer 6ft leash was better but it’s nice this is a little shorter so more control and less chance of dogs getting tangled. Only thing that would make it perfect would be to have anti reflection of some sort but this is already an amazing leash at a great price.
