How does this put onto the dog? What are the straps for? I don't have instructions.
Answer by ChewyAug 08, 2018
Simply put the collar on over the head and secure straps and velcro for a secure fit.

Does this collar work for wounds on the back hip. My dog has a long snout?
Answer by ChewyJun 09, 2018
This collar was designed to prevent pets from aggravating a healing wound or injury including on the back of the hip.

How do you measure for collar
Answer by ChewySep 11, 2018
To get the most accurate size collar for your furry best friend, measure the center of their neck a with a cloth tape measure, a few inches down from their head. Pull the tape snug, but not tight. If you don't have a tape measure, you can also use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there’s enough room for about two fingers between the collar and your pup’s neck.

I can not find a single video showing how to use your Calm Paws Protective collar with chest strap. Easy enough to put the collar on but the chest strap looks uncomfortable and is awkward to put on. Perhaps a video with instructions??
Answer by ChewyMar 01, 2020
Simply put on the collar normally and unbuckle the strap. Run it behind your pets front legs and clip the buckle back around them forming a complete loop.

Protective collar

The inflatable protective collar worked very well with my one year old pup even though the person at the front desk at my vets office said it wouldn't work. It's much better than the cone of shame.

Worked GREAT

I purchased this due to my puppy having to have her dew claws removed. The e-collar didn’t look comfortable to sleep with. I saw this and it worked great. It was like she had her own pillow and it prevented her from licking her paws.

Cat collar

Needs regular collar to work. Cat won’t keep regular collar on. Magician, gets out of everything.

Collar used after surgery

Have been using this collar instead of the collar the vet gave us after surgery. It works great and is so much better than the big, plastic cone collar!!! All vets should order these!

Not high quality

About 4 inches of stitching came out of the zipper while the collar did what it was supposed to do in just a couple of days it was falling apart so the inner blowup tube was exposed.

It worked great.

It worked really well on our golden retriever puppy. It stayed on, it didn't seem to bother her much.

Comfortable

If your pet must have a protective collar and you are left with no alternative, please purchase one that's comfortable because the cheap ones the hospitals provide are hard and cumbersome

Bought this for my pittie who has mast cell tumors. He had three removed on ear, front leg and hip. He wore the collar for two weeks, with supervised breaks, then wore to vet to have stitches removed. Highly recommend, pleasantly surprised!

My dog is comfortable

This collar is great. She can go up and down steps without bumping that cone on each step. Glad I got it.

I got this for a cat and she popped it

I got this for a cat that is super allergic to everything. She has to wear something to stop her from scratching an licking. She eats special food for skin and takes antihistamines. She didn't have this on for 24 hrs. before she popped it. I keep her front and back nails clipped but she still popped it with her back nails by scratching up around her neck. I came out in the morning and found it deflated. I tried blowing it up but it wouldn't inflate. I took it apart and found holes in it from where her nails had come thru the material and the plastic bladder. She will just have to go back to wearing the pink daisy she hates so much. She can sometimes get that off but at least it works for her problem.
