PERFECT for my cat. It is so much better than the traditional plastic cone thing. Keep in mind my cat just accepts it and does not try to remove the collar.. But I went to the dollar store , bought a collar with a little bell and I attached it to this. This Calming cone has 3 loops where you can attach a collar to make it even more secure. So if you get a dollar store collar and attach it to this calming cone then its pretty secure. I wouldn't use a regular plastic cone ever again. The 1 issue I have with this is that its kind of small.. That's GREAT for the cat as she can see easier, drink easily ECT. But I bought the next size up to go with this one just in case I needed a more secure collar. So I bought this extra small cone for cats as well as the small cone for dogs. I put the small dog version on her when I'm washing this extra small one.
I have a very small cat who needed a recovery collar to stop scratching her neck. I liked the idea of a lightweight fabric cone and the calming gel patch was an added inducement. But when we got the collar it was all bent out of shape and very uncomfortable for my cat. I had to use a blow dryer to heat it up to reshape it otherwise it was in a constant "U" shape, not a cone. Very uncomfortable for my cat & made her miserable! Also it is very cumbersome and not appropriate for extra small animals. I only give this a one-star because I had to otherwise I wouldn't give it any stars!
