When I realized the temperatures were soon going to drop precipitously, I panicked because my 3 dogs didn’t have the proper gear. I checked other sites, including the most popular and reliable ones, and no one could deliver anything before the massive storm. I took a chance when I found these beauties on Chewy. Not only in stock, but buy 2 get one free, and arrived just before the temperature and wind chill hit rock bottom. I have other Canada Pooch items (parkas, thermal onesies, wellies) and love them, these snowsuits are a work of art and style, just as I’ve come to expect. And I cannot say enough about Chewy’s prompt order processing and shipment. Saved us from freezing outdoors tonight when no one else could. Thanks, Chewy!
These suits are no joke. We moved our 2 miniature poodles from the south to the Midwest and I knew these guys were going to freeze. I did have to make a couple of stitches to fit them perfectly. It did take a few times for me to get good at dressing them. Luckily, the boys know what it’s for and love rolling in the snow in their toasty suits! Just for reference, the dog on the left weighs 8lbs and is wearing a size 14. The one on the right weighs 11 lbs and is wearing a size 16. The stitches I made were to ensure they wouldn’t urinate into the suit.
I ordered one for each of my 3 dogs. I have 2 bully breeds (known as pitbull) and a mini dachshund. I initially bought 2 size 22’s and a size 14. The 22 ended up fitting my older bully perfectly. The other 22 ended up being pretty big in the chest for my younger bully. Chewy let me exchange it for a 20 instead. The 20 fits him perfectly. The size 14 is a few inches too short in length for my mini dachshund unfortunately. Wish I would’ve tried the size 16 for her first to see how it would fit her. I’m iffy on exchanging hers because idk how the 16 will fit her. It’s just unfortunate because it doesn’t cover her butt and legs well at all like it does for my other 2 dogs. I’ve been ordering from chewy for years now and they’re a great company. I definitely recommend ordering through them. Great customer service. I just wish shopping for dachshunds was easier. Lol.
This came out to be great! I wish the legs were a bit shorter. The bottom of the legs have adjustable snaps but I’m not sure where they snap to. I rolled up my dogs back leg side and it worked out well!
I have a skinny little 19lb Beagle from the South who is NOT ok in Chicago in any weather under 65 degrees. Little man is about to find out what cold really is! This snow suit is the perfect solution because it covers his legs too. I ordered him a size 16 and it was a perfect fit so I ordered another the very next day for my 30lb. Beagle as well (in size 18). The silver insulation is so warm when I remove it! Tip for getting it on: lay it flat, so back legs first, then front legs, then zip! Harness can fit on the outside!
This product is nice and warm but just a little long on the back legs. If my Boston walks a little fast, the back leg part falls down his leg and makes it difficult for him to walk. I can always pin it up a little to fix that. All in all, a good product.
Canada Pooch clothing always fits my Frenchie perfectly.
This snowsuit has kept my girl warm when the temperature is in the low 20s with a cold wind. We got a size 24. It seemed to fit perfectly, but it chafes the outside top of her legs to the point that she is rubbed raw. I then tried a size 26, which was way too big, but had the same issue. The other reason I did not give it five stars is because putting it on can be a little awkward. Other than those things, I think it is a great, warm coat for my dog who has very little insulation in the way of fur. I am attaching pictures so that you have an idea of what the rear looks like. No issues with her doing her business. I am putting serious thought into a remedy to the chafing because it is a great coat other than that.
My dog is skinny but long. He is only 5.5 lbs but the size 12 measurements fit his back length best. I roll the legs one time instead of using the buttons - it’s just easier for putting on and taking off. I bought a harness that’s one size up from his regular size and I put it OVER the snowsuit to prevent him from peeing inside it. It keeps him warm though! When I take it off him I can feel the heat. Worth the money if you have a dog that can’t tolerate the cold.
What was the point in making something that literally doesn’t even cover any of the dogs back end, it really doesn’t do anything for the legs or butt either, you would think that with the misleading full leg coverage it showcases that it would cover more than the waterproof jackets you can buy at most pet stores, which was the reason I wanted this jacket. My dogs entire back end isn’t covered (yes I have the right size) and it looks really weird as well, I am just so disappointed..
