We have an 8 month old English Cream Golden Retriever, about 65lbs. Ordered the size 26. It's a tad loose through the stomach, but a solid fit everywhere else. Not sure if this size will fit her next winter (she's still got a bit of growing left). She LOVES the snow, and then, loves to dig and play in the snow to get to the mud below. We have a dog bath in our garage, which is great....except for winter because neither of us enjoy the cold temps. I've been searching for weeks trying to find the best coat to keep her clean while enjoying the walks. The coat doesn't provide warmth (no biggie for us), but covers her practically to her ankles. I love it! There's a snap on the right shoulder that I attach first to help it stay on, then I start with the front legs, then the back. Starting the zipper is a bit tricky because of the cover flap, but then it goes on easy (I wish the zipper started at the head and not the tail). Only disappointment was the first time I cinched the neck, the cord pulled out. It's still staying, but now I can't adjust it or stick it back through the little hole.
I have a petite pittie mix. She is 48 lbs, back length 21" and chest is 26.75". I got her a size 22 so I could fit a sweater under it for winter. It is great! Easy to put on if you do the front legs first and then button at the neck before you put in the back legs and then zip up! Also like the snaps at the cuffs. I can make them a bit tighter since she doesn't have a fluffy layer of fur.
It’s truly the raincoat I found on the market with the most coverage! Especially the belly area, owners life saver! however, I found the material isn’t truly waterproof, I could call it water resistant. But after a while maybe 20-30 minutes in a medium to heavy rain situations, the material get wet and soaked. So for a quick short potty walk on a raining day it’s perfect.
These would work great for taller dogs. I ordered two for my Daisy dogs. The leg snaps make it too difficult with short, impatient, furry dogs. If you can't snap the legs tight the pants hang too low. I only got one on one dog. The next dog was even worse. I am going to look for something that is easier to get their feet through and easier to pull tight on my dogs' legs
The sizing guide for this is horrible. The largest size Chewy carries is 28 for (up to 39 inches), which sounds huge and plenty big enough for my 100 pound dog. Until it arrived and I could not fathom how this could possibly fit him. Turns out the actual size guide on the tag is way different.
I bought the size 12 and Fits a 7lb toy poodle perfectly. There is plenty room if I want to layer.
Tulip LOVES to run! I have full track marks in my lawn to prove it. After rain or melted snow she comes in absolutely filthy. Especially her undercarriage (from neck to belly to lady bits). I'm not talking about a little splash of mud. I mean a full layer of mud caked on her after just 10 minutes outside. I have been searching high and low for something Tullie could wear outside to prevent the need for a bath EVERY DAY (not good for her skin or my back). This slush suit is AMAZING! No muddy undercarriage and she's not wet! We still have a small portion of her to clean up but it's far better then cleaning the entire pup. We call it her track suit because she makes that cute swish sound as she walks. Love this thing. Highly recommend if you have a dog that loves to get dirty.
Very happy: my dog is a Cairn/Bischon mix and loves the snow, but comes in with giant snowballs entangling her fur (easily 20min to comb and blow dry the ice out). She is 22.5lbs and 16 inches long; size 16 is perfect (she has short legs, so this covers almost all her legs). There is a drawstring at the neck that doesn't distract her; on the pink suit there are snaps at the legs for best fit; she is able to run and jump in the suit. Big SHOUT OUT to Chewy: I needed to exchange sizes and they were quick and donated the returned item to charity. Crazy generous.
First of all, this suit is amazing quality and the color is fabulous! I ordered a size 10 but turns out it’s a bit small, so I’m sizing up. I do agree that there are issues for male dogs because the girth doesn’t have a way to cinch to a small size, it just hangs, maybe they’ll a drawstring there too in the next design. Still a beautiful suit and I would recommend it.
this seemed extremely well made, but the fit just didn't work for us. i measured Max at 22 and upsized to 24 after reading reviews. as you can see in pic, the legs are mush shorter than on the model (especially rear) and the back length still ended up too short (although maybe length would be ok if front shoulders were bigger, it seems to kind of pull the whole thing towards his head when he walked). we contemplated upsizing an additional size but were worried he would pee on the underbelly part and again were looking for more leg coverage than what this is designed to do. would definitely get this if we had a shorter dog. for reference we have a 65lb standard goldendoodle. he is shorter than most labs we see out on walks. the suit also makes the windsuit swishing sound when they walk which isn't a dealbreaker but we didn't expect it.
