I'm a believer
By Maddy on Apr 16, 2021
Maddy is a 10 yr old boxer/lab mix with Mediastinal Lymphoma (T-cell) discovered on 2/19. After the failure of the 1st round of CHOP chemo protocol (standard protocol for canine lymph) we began to get VERY serious on her treatment challenge. Oncology has switched to the LOP protocol and her pet parents started digging into every avenue they could find on our end as each week became a guessing game as to whether lab work would allow for a chemo treatment. Switching to a high protein/low carb diet Mad's cut out every drop of sugar & went to VERY low carbs (as sugar & carbs have been proven to be gasoline to a fire when it comes to blossoming cancer cells.) In addition she was started on pro-biotics Maddy is a 10 yr old boxer/lab mix with Mediastinal Lymphoma (T-cell) discovered on 2/19. Switching to a high protein/low carb diet Mad's cut out every drop of sugar & went to VERY low carbs (as sugar & carbs have been proven to be gasoline to a fire when it comes to blossoming cancer cells.) In addition she was started on pro-biotics, fish oil & turkey tail mushroom. Turkey tail became a tool in our toolbox once we read the incredible studies of the Univ Of Penn canine mushroom study. With the blessing of our Oncologist we have been giving her this supplement 3 times a day in her home-cooked diet. She just returned from chemo yesterday to the delight of her parents & Oncologist alike with AMAZING lab work. I can't swear to you the mushroom is the singular godsend or it's a combo of all the tools we are using to fight this battle, but we are currently on an upswing and we'll take EVERY good day we can get. I was concerned Mad's might be turned off to the taste of anything new, but she gobbles every meal right up. The powder is easy to measure, use & store. As long as we are blessed with our Mad's here on earth she will be a proud recipient of this product be it in remission or during chemo treatments alike. … more

Won't eat it
By BluesMom on Jan 31, 2021
My lab won’t swallow this. I’ve tried hiding a tsp in wet food, chicken broth, nutritional yeast, mashed potatoes, beef brisket, and even all of these things mixed together. He sniffs and sometimes will take one bite then shakes his head and walks away. I’m going to try putting it into capsules and then the capsules into pill pouches. I can’t comment on the effectiveness, just the difficulty of feeding it. He is by no means a picky eater.

I swear my hound dog’s fatty tumors are shrinking! He doesn’t mind the taste, but he’s not too picky. Hopefully it comes back in stock soon!

My dogs both happily eat their food with this supplement in it. I also give them the Recovery version as well. It really seems to help my senior girls!

Hide the Taste with Peanut Butter
By SarahElizabeth on Jul 31, 2020
I am so grateful for turkey tail. Both of my doggies have pre-exisiting issues and are subject to harsh bouts of illness. Turkey Tail keeps them stable, without any side effects. I make it into a treat for them, and it feels really good improve their health and quality of life, while giving them a special snack. To make turkey tail palatable, I roll it in peanut butter - the less ingredients in the peanut butter the better. Next, I add some coconut oil, which is very healthful, and makes the peanut butter creamier, and this makes blending the turkey tail easier, and sometime I crack the teeniest bit of pink himalayan salt. With or without salt, it works to cover the taste. I even add another I am so grateful for turkey tail. Both of my doggies have pre-exisiting issues and are subject to harsh bouts of illness. Even with two unpleasant flavors, their tails wag back and forth the whole time they're gobbling this up. I usually serve it on small, disposable plates, and I double the recommended 1/2 a tsp for every 25 lbs because of their health issues. My boys are happy and well. Please trust me, there are palatable ways to feed your pets turkey tail - and you'll be glad you did! I adamantly, 5 out 5 stars recommend. Good luck, and good health to your pets. … more

Seems edible enough
By wildcat567 on Aug 20, 2020
I just started mixing this in with my dogs' food. Can't speak to its health benefits because I'm using it more as a cancer preventative than because they have any issues (I have a 7 y.o. Rottweiler whose parents both died last month from cancer, and a 14 y.o. Blue Heeler mix). But they eat their dinner with the same amount of gusto as before, so it must be palatable when mixed with their wet food.

Dogs and cats love it. Really tired of canine cancers and hope that this works as a preventative!

Not sure I’d purchase again
By Sunny on Jun 17, 2020
I probably waste twice as much of this as I am able to get into my dog. It’s a powder that is unpalatable. Sometimes I can hide it, but other times she manages to spit most of it out. I hope it’s effective at prolonging her life, but it won’t be if I can get her to swallow it. I’ll look for pill form next time.

Tastes awful?
By Cooper on Aug 18, 2020
My dog can’t stand this stuff. If I can’t find a way to hide it, it was a waste of money. Capsules would have been better.
