I have been using head collars to leash train my dogs for the past 15 years. I was looking for an alternative to the halti (everyone thinks it’s a muzzle and is afraid when my dog wears it) and the gentle leader (thin strap leaves a bump on my dogs muzzle area). I had high hopes for this given it looks like a collar and has a wide nose strap. Not only did it rub the hair off of his nose under the strap, but it gives a lot less control than other head collars. My dog pulled on this one, whereas he doesn’t on the other two. He is also able to remove the nose strap much more easily and even got out of the entire collar the first time I used it. The idea behind the design is stellar it just doesn’t function well for a large, strong dog.

Excellent collar to control pulling on walks

Has really made a huge improvement in her walking without pulling. Took a few weeks for her to get use to wearing it, but she is walking so nice now.

Not for my dog but a great product.

My lab puppy (65lbs) loves to pull on his leash the first 10 mins of any walk due to excitement. The canny collar is the most successful collar harness to date

My lab puppy (65lbs) loves to pull on his leash the first 10 mins of any walk due to excitement. The canny collar is the most successful collar harness to date but my pup seems to hate anything on his nose or body that pulls on him when he pulls ahead of me. The remaining 50 mins he does tend to loose leash walk on this collar which is why it’s been the most successful one to date. The one star deduction was because there’s no way to prevent the nose loop from being pushed off by my dog when the leash is loose. The good news is the collar part holds him down the loop being pushed off is a minor thing.

I like this collar but wish it had some padding around the nose as my beagle walks with his nose to the ground. I also find that the nose part will slip off if I don't keep constant pressure on the leash so that's why I think padding would be good. I think the pressure from behind is much better for a dog who may bolt than many head collars with the hook in the front. I don't want my dogs head getting jerked backwards which could potentially happen with some of the other head collars.

Doesn't seem to work and creates stress

I have used this a few times to help my 7mo lab puppy to quit pulling so hard on walks. She just stops and tries to get this off, which unfortunately she can do

I have used this a few times to help my 7mo lab puppy to quit pulling so hard on walks. She just stops and tries to get this off, which unfortunately she can do easily and then when I let her off leash the dangling parts just collect dirt. I also think the leash is too long. Idk, maybe I'm not using it right but for now I will stick with a harness or prong collar which both work better and seem to be less irritating for her. I worry about the nose loop going up into her eyes, and she's got a big long nose and face (pointer mixed in). Also sizing runs small.

It drives my dog crazy

Its made sturdy, but my dog won't stop rubbing on the ground to get it off. The little plastic clip doesn't hold well and my dog cna get the nose section off, because

Its made sturdy, but my dog won't stop rubbing on the ground to get it off. The little plastic clip doesn't hold well and my dog cna get the nose section off, because of that. I bought a different brand that worked much better with a steady clip on bottom. I'd like to return this, if possible

worth it

If you have a dog who gets a little overly excited on a walk and likes to pull this is what you need! I looked for about a week or so until I found one I thought

If you have a dog who gets a little overly excited on a walk and likes to pull this is what you need! I looked for about a week or so until I found one I thought would be good. This was it now my dogs aren't huge fans but they will walk with it and they don't pull. This allows me to walk both of them. I have two 5-month-old almost 40 lbs boys who don't know how to not puppy on walks yet but once these are on, they are liked trained little boys. Definitely recommend.
