Cardinal Gates Duragate Dog Gate, Black

We needed a gate without a threshold, visually unobtrusive, easy to open one-handed, and could swing 180 degrees. We got that with this gate. It is well-made, very good quality, and the black color blends well with the surroundings so it isn't ugly. The installation instructions were a bit of a challenge - the written instructions said to tighten set screws, with a "helpful" illustration of an arrow pointing to the location on the gate, but did NOT mention that the set screws were actually in the hardware bag and had to be installed first. That caused a minute of confusion. Otherwise, the instructions were okay for this 64-year-old woman installing the gate by myself. There are multiple points of adjustment so the gate was easy to level. The latch to open it is very stiff and a little difficult to use at first but over a few days has loosened up a bit, so no problem there. We don't have children, just dogs, so we did not need the "safety" part of the latch which was just inconvenient for us. It is installed with a rivet which I had to drill out but that was easy. The best part of this gate is that it was able to be installed the way I wanted. I wanted to keep the inside of the doorway clear of hardware so I installed it on the outside part of the wood trim, allowing it to swing totally out of the way with no hardware on the inside of the doorway. Perfect!
