Is it OK to add this to an already cycled tank?

Care must be taken when adding substrate to an already cycled system. Typically it is best to mix new substrate in with existing substrate so as not to suffocate the nitrifying bacteria that already exist within the substrate.

I bought this specifically for our panda Cory‘s since they like to root around for their food. This was a little too coarse.

I love this sand, especially the torpedo beach. The color is perfect, not too light, but not golden either. It's a coarse sand, not real fine which I prefer. It's

I love this sand, especially the torpedo beach. The color is perfect, not too light, but not golden either. It's a coarse sand, not real fine which I prefer. It's easier to use with a gravel vacuum. I find sand easier to clean than gravel. I have this in my 20gal long and my 30gal community tank. My corydoras love it. Such a beautiful color.

Good substrate. Ontrac not so much

The product is good. I'm still new to the hobby. The course sand needed to be rinsed many times, but that seems normal with almost all substrates. The color was

The product is good. I'm still new to the hobby. The course sand needed to be rinsed many times, but that seems normal with almost all substrates. The color was more white and did not have as much light brown in the coloring as the photos may suggest. A company called OnTrac was used to deliver and they were at least two days late. Both days the status was updated around 9 pm that it was delayed at 6pm to the next day. I do admit I don't live in a major city.

Nice large-grained white sand. It's not white like the pure driven snow, but "rustic" white like a nice pale beach with some variation between chunks. I didn't rinse

Nice large-grained white sand. It's not white like the pure driven snow, but "rustic" white like a nice pale beach with some variation between chunks. I didn't rinse it before putting it in my tank and had no issues with clouding. Two 5lb bags were enough to cap some aquarium soil with about 1" of sand and a bit left over in a 18-gallon tank.
