Serve as a complete and balanced meal or as a topper with dry food. When fed alone, use 1 pack daily for every 12 lbs. body weight. If feeding with typical dry dog food reduce dry by 2/3 cup for every 1 pack of Daily Dish. Adjust the amount of food fed to meet your dog's individual needs. Always provide access to fresh water. Gently heat for a special treat!
Slowly transition your pet to Caru stews over a period of about 7 days so that the new food is not a sudden shock to their system. Mix 25% of the new food in with 75% of the current food for the first 2 days, then mix 50% new food with 50% existing food for the next 2 days, then mix 75% new food with 25% current food for the next 2 days. By day seven, you can feed your dog 100% new food. If your pet experiences any kind of digestive upset during this time, try slowing down the process.
My two dogs, siblings, have had sensitive stomach issues since they were puppies - the male more than the female. They're now 7 and were still vomiting up dinner or breakfast occasionally for no obvious reason. A few years ago, my husband figured out that it was the potatoes in the canned food we were mixing with their kibble. So every meal one of us would stand at the kitchen sink and pick out even the tiniest pieces of potato and sometimes missed one - not a good thing. In October, the male was diagnosed with pancreatitis so I decided to find a different wet food and discovered it's very difficult to find human-grade ones without potatoes. I was so excited when I found Caru daily dish with turkey, wild salmon, etc. Neither dog has vomited their food for the past 6 weeks!! They each weight 14 lbs, so I add 2 tsp. of the Caru to 1/3 cup of Nutro kibble. It's not expensive and I have both on auto-ship so I don't ever run out. This has been a life saver since the male dog usually looks for a rug or carpet to do his thing on instead of the vinyl flooring. THANK YOU CARU DAILY DISH AND CHEWY!!
My dogs do love this food! And I can tell that their digestive system is much better and I am sure they will be much healthier after getting them on something natural. However I do think it is a little expensive. I can afford it but not everyone can and I do hate that for all the little dogs that have belly troubles. This truly has changed there life’s.
I use the Caru for dogs as a topper to their daily servings of The Honest Kitchen. Both are excellent food grade lines. I have multiple rescue dogs living with me and I believe they have all received the benefits of good quality food. It is well worth the price given that it may help do away with some of the expensive vet visits.
I mentioned this in my previous review of Mericks Lil Plates Beef.I also submitted a picture of pooches near the container. However, I wanted to make a correction that's its salmon not tuna. Its great moisture and not a n overbearing fish smell which I love. Even when I switch her to the vegetarian kibble, I will still give her this wet food periodically.
I tried these to see if they would be a good option for my dog. Once I opened them up they looked good and I hoped she would be pleased. However, she didn’t like it.
My dog loves this stuff. Even though it is human grade, I'm not gonna try it. Ha Ha. I have not tried a flavor she didn't like and she has been very picky since she was 8 wks.old. Not sure why a farm dog was so persnickity, but she like this.
All 4 of my dogs love it! And I like what I read in the ingredients, we are all happy about it. I already ordered another case.
This is the first time I ordered this food. My dog loves it. Definitely will continue ordering.
I have had such difficulty getting my dog to even look at his food and I tried multiple kinds of dog food I even started making him beef stew and chicken stew because he would not want to eat dog food he wanted our food finally after 2 years I decided to try Caru and I have not had a problem since he eats all of his food and is looking for more I could not be happier thanks Caru and chewy you made my Kodak a very happy dog.
My dogs like this food and it is healthy for them, however this will probably be the last time I buy it because of the packaging. Removing the food from the container is messy and it's too much work...and there's too much waste. I'd buy this every month if the packaging was easier to deal with.
