This is a lightweight piece of cardboard, as described. I bought it to give my kitten a variety of scratching and lounging surfaces. Of all the different scratchers and loungers I've bought, this was the only one for which my kitten had zero interest. It sat around and gathered dust for a couple of months before I decided to just trash it. Also, it came with a tiny baggie of catnip, which I assumed was for the lounger. But probably not. It must just be a bonus item to put inside of a toy? When I sprinkled it on the lounger it just fell through the holes to the floor. (A "duh" moment for me.) He seems to prefer sisal. And hammock loungers.
I do see that other cats seem to like it. So I do recommend the item, because you just don't know what your cat will like it until you buy it. At least this item is affordable! You don't have much to lose to just give it a try. Cats need a variety of surfaces that they're allowed to scratch on. I give 3 stars for being an affordable risk.… more

My cats love scratching on these & laying on them. Great for older cats who have arthritis or back problems because they won't have to stand up like with a scratching post. The catnip is a nice extra, but just be aware that because the scratcher is interwoven cardboard that is essentially full of holes, any catnip you sprinkle will fall all the way through the scratch pad & wind up on the surface below. Not a big deal, but just be aware if you don't want catnip all over your carpet.
Too Small Now!
on Sep 8, 2021
It’s unfortunate that this product is now so much smaller than it used to be. My cats love to scratch and lay on cardboard scratchers and they loved this bed in the past so much. Now they struggle to fit on it and to keep their bodies on it while they scratch so it doesn’t pull up off the ground. I have large cats (15 lbs. and 20 lbs.). This will probably still be a good product for you is you have little kitties, but it is not good for large cats. I’ll have to find a different product to buy in the future. I replace their cardboard scratchers every month or two as they wear out.

We all know that cats gotta scratch! This product is excellent for the price. It does not fall apart easily and comes with catnip. To clean, you just turn it over and all of the little pieces easily come off. Chewy always has the greatest items for the best prices!
Works for my big cat

I was a little bit worried about this lounger being too small, but it works for my plus size cat. Emmett is 16" tall (feet to top of back), 18" long (bum to chest), and weighs 18lbs. He not only loves to tear it up, but he smushes himself to fit on it as well. Only negative thing about it is that is does move while he sharpens his claws. It's cardboard, so that's expected, and he just moves with it.
product is NOT as LONG OR as WIDE as it used to be!
on Aug 24, 2021
i've bought this same brand/product NUMEROUS TIMES & i know for a FACT they are NOW almost half as wide as they used to be AS WELL AS almost 4 INCHES SHORTER! will NOT BUY this anymore. does catit think that an ADULT CAT gets smaller/shorter/LESS WIDER? this is an darn disgrace and catit doesn't even care because i WASTED my time contacting them they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to make things right. DON'T BUY FROM CATIT they're THIEVES!

The cats really like this, they lay on it, scratch it, get their catnip fix (without it being all over the floor). One of our cats does chew/tear pieces off but small issue to entertain her. Have ordered more already.
Much smaller than I thought

My 10lb cat occasionally lays on it and her body hangs off the side. Also because the lounge scratcher is so lightweight my cats don’t use it to scratch because it’s not solid enough to stay in place.
If you do decide to purchase this scratcher I would suggest measuring your cat to the specs that are given.
That may sound silly but why waste your money if it’s too small.

This scratcher is a real fav of our cats, especially our Maine Coon Cat...with 3 in a row, these scratchers make a great lounger and scratchy time pass-time
