Gap between ramp and box

I imagined I would be able to push the ramp flush against the litter box, to catch litter bits. But there’s a sensor on the litter box that means it won’t clean

I imagined I would be able to push the ramp flush against the litter box, to catch litter bits. But there’s a sensor on the litter box that means it won’t clean if the ramp is “too close” so there’s a nice gap between the ramp and litter box that gets covered with litter. It does open easily, looks like it would be easy to clean. Bit weird to store things IN it, because the storage area is the same place where the litter falls in and gets trapped, so anything stored gets coated in litter.
