Complete Ripoff
I am disappointed and angry about this product. I was looking for a tower by Kitty Mansions, whose towers I've been buying for the past 10+ years. That company appears to no longer be around, but the Catry towers looked similar in the photos - unfortunately, they are not. The old Kitty Mansions tower has a cubby cube with wooden sides, while those on the Catry product are almost transparent flimsy fabric that will be torn in no time. My recovering abused feral boy uses the cubby as a refuge, but he will not be comfortable in these new ones. The posts aren't cut correctly, so the shelves on the Catry tower aren't even level. The furry perches are flat platforms that you pull the furry covers over. I'm concerned that my 2 rowdy boys will inadvertently pull them right off, and possibly fall. And those covers bind up the elastic on the hanging balls so they're up under the platform, not hanging down. Just stupid. Had to cut holes on other fabric that covered the holes for the posts. Thoughtless design. That brings me to the design flaw brought up by another reviewer. There's no way for the kitties to access the 3rd level from the 2nd level. That was my one complaint about the Kitty Mansions tower, but it's not as bad as this new one from Catry. And finally, the Kitty Mansions tower cost HALF THE PRICE five years ago. The only thing wrong with it really is torn fur on some of the platforms. Well, I'm going to fix that and get rid of this cheap and infuriating Catry tower. I'd return it if my husband hadn't already taken the box to the transfer station. He should have taken the tower too. It belongs in a landfill.
My cats love it but I don't
If you're looking for something durable that will last a while you should probably keep looking. I've only had this cat tree for about 3 months and it's completely falling apart. The house parts are completely ripped to shreds and the supports are tilted. Not to mention the upper shelf is cracked I have no idea how that even happened. It's cute and my cats have loved it while it lasted but 3 months? Come on. They sleep in it everyday and play on it all night. That is the only good quality this cat tree has.
Design Flaw
You can’t tell from the pictures on the Chewy website, but in my opinion this item has a huge design flaw. The two side shelves only give your cats access to the second shelf. The third level is way out of reach. They won’t even try to jump up. The cats can’t see from the top or bottom. They can’t even get to the 3 beds on top. I need to contact Chewy. I’m not sure how to get this back in the box now to return it.
cats love it
This is a great cat tree. It’s sturdy and easy to assemble. Took me about an hour to put together. Each piece comes labeled which helps with assembling. The material is so soft and my two cats instantly made biscuits into the fluffy, soft platforms and fell fast asleep. My only gripe is the price. It’s expensive and I’ve paid much less for cat trees similar in size and style but other than that, I’m really happy with this tree.
