Feeding Instructions
Mix 30 g into feed daily. In horses prone to severe acidosis, start with a 4-week regimen of Cavalor LactaTec, followed by 2 days before, during, and 1 day after competition or intense exercise. 1 measuring scoop = 15 g. Maximum 45 g per horse per day.

Helping my young horse with suspected DSLD

I got this for my 3-year old gelding who I suspect may have DSLD like his mother did. I wanted to see if it would help him in any way. Although I think it may take some extended time to really see significant changes, the one thing I've really noticed is he clearly feels better. He's not so mouthy which has ALWAYS been an issue for him. And this is the ONLY change I've made for him. Clearly he is feeling better. I like that you get a lot in the container and that my horse had no issue eating it mixed into his timothy pellet mash. I will say it has a pretty strong smell so I was a little worried my boy wouldn't eat it, but he had no issues. That is the only slight negative I would give it.
Overwhelming strong artificial scent
I could smell the product before I even opened it. Then once I opened it, it was even worse. Additionally, the bag was torn, so the product spilled out the sides,

Due to this, I would not recommend it and I absolutely would not put it in their feed. If it was that strong for me imagine what it’s like for horses. It wasn’t a pleasant scent. It smelled very artificial too.
Would recommend for most active horses

They’ve had no complaints about the new addition, even though one of them is picky and the smell of the powder is pretty potent. If your horse is needing a similar addition to their feed, I would recommend trying this out.

I plan to add to my horse’s grain during horse shows and I recently added it to his feed when he moved barns and had to quarantine for 2 weeks as I knew he’d be stressed and moving around more. The product has a strong smell so I worried he wouldn’t eat it, but he didn’t seem to notice/mind it. It is pricey so I would probably not use it if needed daily, but I feel it will last a long time only using during peak performance times.

He’s not in training or doing anything strenuous, just getting older and needing a little support. This supplement made a noticeable difference in his comfort and mobility. I was so impressed, I shared some with friends who have horses in active training. They saw big results too — looser muscles, faster recovery, and overall better performance. It’s a heavy tub and definitely on the pricey side, but the quality is obvious, and the results speak for themselves. Even if your horse isn’t working hard, this can help with aging or general soreness. I’ll definitely keep using it and recommending it to others. Great product for anyone with a crew that needs a little extra care.

I was skeptical if a difference would even be noticed because my senior horse is on other supplements, but after using it for probably 3-4 weeks now, I’ve seen him bucking in the pasture lately and carrying on with the others, which he hasn’t done in ages! It definitely seems to be making a difference. It is a tad pricey, but all good supplements are. I will be getting this again since it seems to be helping.

As they are in their middle ages and came with ailments, these horses will surely benefit from the muscle supplement. It has only been a short time so it is hard to say if it has made a huge difference, but I am sure we will see changes in the near future. The reason for 4 stars is because of this and the price point, but other than that a good product.
Easy to hide in feed, great for muscle recovery.

That said.. it’s not a quick fix and you must make sure you continue doing the proper cool downs and stretching as that makes all the difference. My horses eat it no problem and it dosen't smell bad.. overall it’s a solid supplement for muscle support!
