Instructions
- Shave the affected area if necessary.
- Wash the leg first with a disinfectant shampoo like Cavalor Derma Wash.
- Dry the pasterns with a cloth before applying Cavalor MudDoc.
- Apply Cavalor MudDoc daily.
- Continue to use Cavalor MudDoc as long as needed to prevent the mud fever from returning.

Living in the Midwest we deal with a lot of mud. It’s not uncommon for our horses to develop sore legs or ‘mud fever’. This product has a great consistency to actually stay on the area affected. It has a pleasant smell and is easily washed off of human hands. Hoping it’s able to keep the horses from being uncomfortable throughout the winter. A bigger size container would be good.

This product smells incredibly good! If I were eating it solely on scent 10/10- not harsh like some of the herbal based stuff. It’s not greasy at all and seems to just penetrate into the skin without collecting a ton of dirt and yuck. I’m not entirely sure if this will work on a hard case of mud fever, but it seems like it will be great as a remedy for mild and maybe moderate cases. Since it’s pretty non greasy, it doesn’t soften scabs like a heavier product will, but scabs do fall off within a few days and seem sort of crumbly. Seems like a nice soothing cream to have on hand for sure.

This is an absolutely amazing product! Although my Horse did not have mud fever, he should be affectionately named “Scar”. He is an absolute pro at beating himself up. He managed to get a couple of really significant wounds from rubbing up against things and running into things. Within just two or three applications, the The broken skin healed over completely and even restarted growing hair very quickly. I don’t know how this would work for mud fever, but for cuts, scrapes, and wounds, this is an absolutely wonderful product!

This was a smooth balm that was easy to apply. This product seems like it might be best for horses that spend at least part of the day in the stable. Unfortunately, my horses are outside 24/7, and even though this product did help, it washes away too easily to justify the cost.
Helped with wounds from insect bites
I used this product on my senior horses hocks and back legs that were having a severe reaction to insect bites. There was a lot of bleeding, scabbing and irritation
