About This Item

Details

  • This grit aids digestion by acting as a natural grinder in the stomach, helping your beaked buddies digest food properly without dissolving in the gizzard.
  • Made from 100% crushed quartzite, this grit is harder and sharper than granite, allowing the gizzard to work faster and more efficiently.
  • Naturally occurring and non-polluting, this grit is safe for your flock and does not disrupt their environment.
  • It couldn’t be easier to use—simply add to your poultry pack’s regular feed without worrying about upsetting the mineral balance or digestive process.
  • Cherry Stone grit remains clean and does not dissolve or become muddy, keeping a hygienic environment for your feathered friends.

I have nine hens laying; four old enough to be laying 10+ a week. these little ladies are very picky they like granite sometimes and they throw the rest out. So I buy regular chicken grits they don't like . I spent the extra money on flight oyster shells and they didn't touch it at all they threw it all over the ground. Now I've been doing this for a long time and I'm not getting enough eggs after they sneak their eatings. So after reading about cherry stone I take a handful every day or two and set it next to the water on the ground and they all eat it. When your egg gets gritty you know your chickens haven't been cleaned out $19.99 for a 50 pound bag. I have pure breed ophingtons. they engest this as needed; and their eggs are smooth again.
