Improved my dog’s coat but double check dosing

Vet recommended an omega 3 supplement for health maintenance in my dog’s senior years for cardiovascular and joint health and I went with algae oil because it smells

Vet recommended an omega 3 supplement for health maintenance in my dog’s senior years for cardiovascular and joint health and I went with algae oil because it smells less awful. It has definitely improved his coat texture and density and softness a lot so much so that the vet techs comment on how soft he is. I’m sure he’s benefiting in other ways but I can’t tell. However important notes: check for what the recommended amount for your dogs weight is from you vet or an online vet source do not go by these serving sizes on this bottle my dog is on half the dose the bottle recommended based on that. Also it’s important to go up slowly to that dose so that your dog has time to adjust as it can impact stomach and poop issues if you just jump to a full dose.

No smell

I can't attest to how well this product works just yet because I just got it. However, I can attest to it not having a strong smell like most others do... My dog attests to this too... I got the bottle, opened it, picked up his bowl of food to mix it in. He was so excited and dancing around excitedly. Then I set it down in front of him and he sniffed it.... Then looked up at me like I just played the dirtiest trick on him ever. Just staring at me with a look that just said "I'm so disappointed that you would do this to me..." So yes, the smell is so not noticeable, the dog didn't even realize it was on his food, and then I got judged for it.

Not for strong chewers

Our girl bit pieces of within 30minutes. If your dog is remotely a strong chewer, do not buy. Chewy was great with the return though.

Too early to tell if she can tolerate this oil since allergic to salmon in fish oils and she has low reactivity to pancreatitis tests. Starting at 1/2 dose 3X

Palatable and More Energy

I have a black lab and she took this vegan Omega-3 oil without complaint. I put recommended amount for her weight on her dry food and she ate it readily. Later on,

I have a black lab and she took this vegan Omega-3 oil without complaint. I put recommended amount for her weight on her dry food and she ate it readily. Later on, I tried just the oil itself and she licked that up, too. I do think that after about a week of using this oil, she had an increase in her energy levels and was more playful than she was before. She didn't have any negative effects that I could see.

I really like this version of the DHA Omega-3 supplement! The vegan version did not upset either of my dogs' tummies like the fish oil version. I like the pump,

I really like this version of the DHA Omega-3 supplement! The vegan version did not upset either of my dogs' tummies like the fish oil version. I like the pump, it was easier and less mess to measure out the product. The product was shipped as a capped and sealed bottle with the pump in a air filled plastic bag. This method really worked nicely as I got a non-oily, clean bottle. I stabbed the pump through the foil seal then used the appropriate portion per my pets' sizes. My dogs really liked the supplement and drooled waiting for their breakfast to be served! One of my pets made sure to completely lick the bowl clean!

I've been adding a couple of squirts of this product to my 3 dogs' food in the mornings for a couple of weeks now. None of them mind the taste and there isn't a smell at all. I have noticed that they don't seem to be licking their legs as much as they were before we started using it, my senior dogs had a pinkish spot on his leg that he wouldn't leave alone and it seems much better now. We haven't experienced any negatives since starting this routine so I'm planning to keep purchasing it.

My Husky is a very picky eater so I was having a hard time at the beginning to get him to eat his food once I mixed it in. He know something was added to his food

Overall I think it’s a good product for its purpose but not for my picky eater. If this came in treat form then I think my Husky would have no problem eating them.

Received item in a timely manner...curious about this item as I give my dog fish oil pills to maintain its coat...this oil does not smell and also does not leave your dog with a fishy like faint breath. The only drawback is that you have to feed it via applying it directly on the food.... right now, I am giving it currently 4 stars since it is too early to review as I am waiting on the results, I will maybe give it about 4-6weeks of constant feeding to see if results are positive and will update the review accordingly.
