Chuckit! Travel Pillow Dog Bed

My 35-40 pound border collie mix likes this mat; it’s like a quilt/comforter/sleeping bag. I appreciate that it rolls up into its own stuff sack, it can be thrown in the washer and dryer, and it has one side (blue) that is essentially ripstop nylon and the other side (grey) that is like a very thin microsuede-type texture. It’s nice to have an option about which side to put up or down, depending on whether the ground is damp (blue side down for water resistance) or we are inside on slipperier surfaces (grey side down for better traction). The mat provides some padding, although I would not use it as a full-time bed for larger dogs, in particular; obviously, this is not meant to replace a thick orthopedic foam mattress, but it does provide my dog with a comfortable “home base” to settle on, and it will be great when we are on the road and need just a simple little cushy spot for rest. As you can see from the picture, this bed is plenty large for any but giant breeds. A German Shepherd or a lab would fit on it unless they were big sprawlers, in which case their torso would fit, but their legs and head might spill over the edges. The quality of this product in terms of material and craftsmanship exceeded my expectations, and I find it a good value for the $30 I paid. It looks like it will hold up well to a dog’s usual wear and tear, and other reviewers have stated it comes out of the washer and dryer looking great, so I’m optimistic.
