FAQ
Compounding is a way for licensed pharmacists to create a customized medication that meets your pets specific needs. Compounding pharmacists mix or change one or more FDA-approved medications to prepare a special medication for your pet. For example, if a medication is only available in pill form, the pharmacist might create it in liquid, gel, or capsule form.
Your pet may have a specific health need that cannot be addressed by an FDA-approved drug. For example:
- Your pet has trouble taking pills but will take medication in a flavored liquid or other form.
- Your pet needs medication in a strength that is not commercially available.
- Your pet is allergic to a specific ingredient in a medication.
Always talk with your veterinarian about any concerns you have about your pets health so they can prescribe a treatment for your pets unique needs.

This medicine tastes so bad in any other form and my cat Morris refuses to take it. But he loves these soft chews! I just break it into four pieces with my hand and he eats them right up. He has stomatitis so this is great to administer when needed. Thanks for making such a cat friendly product!
Seems like it could injure a cat

First of all, it took Chewy 6 days to get these to me. I ordered them on a Thursday evening and didn’t get them until the following Wednesday. Luckily I was able to get the liquid form from my Vet on Saturday, so my cat wasn’t without treatment for her UTI for so long. Secondly, these chews are very large and tough for a small cat. They have a consistency kind of like very tough jerky. I gave one to my cat and she enjoyed the taste (which is why I gave it two stars instead of one) and she kept trying to eat it. She eventually swallowed it but then it seemed like she was choking on it and hacking like it was stuck in her throat or like she was going to puke it up but then luckily kept it down. The next day I chopped it up in six smaller pieces. Each piece then had sharp corners and I had to try and mash this tough material with my fingers to try and smooth out the sharp parts because I was afraid she could hurt her mouth on them. So, what I thought would be more convenient than the liquid turned out to be more of a chore. Turns out my cat will just eat the liquid when mixed in with a treat pouch which was much easier than trying to feed these chews. The manufacturer should try to make these more doughy and easy to chew.

My dog is 16 and has difficulty taking clindamycin in tablet or capsule form (even if I wrap it in food). This has been the only form she takes it in, I have to tedious cut up the 75 mg chews into 16 tiny pieces and put them on top of her food. She has root canal abscesses, dental disease, and heart disease, these clindamycin chews help relieve her pain and mitigate her from rubbing her face into the ground (because of the irritation the root canal abscesses cause her).

They were really big for a cat and my particular cat was not able to eat them very well unless I cut them up. It was very time-consuming to have to cut them up every time that I had to give them to her. She didn’t seem to like the taste or the texture and I did not feel like she was eating enough to get the antibiotic dosage that was needed.
Large and hard
I have to cut these chewables into six pieces and cover them in Churu so my cat can eat them. It is a pain but way better than having to give her liquid medicine
I have to cut these chewables into six pieces and cover them in Churu so my cat can eat them. It is a pain but way better than having to give her liquid medicine. I wish the manufacturer would keep this in mind and make smaller chewables in cat size. Dogs should have no issues.
Overlong shipment times
It took forever to get the order. If this was a more serious issue, we could have lost our cat.

she loves these and eats them like her favorite treats
Only challenge is our cat tries to eat them whole or chew them. would be better if in 3 or 4 bite-size pieces

Hard for cats to eat
I tried cutting this chews into pieces. My cat still would not eat it. I ended up using sharp scissors and shaving the chews into 30 or 40 pieces. Then crumbling
I tried cutting this chews into pieces. My cat still would not eat it. I ended up using sharp scissors and shaving the chews into 30 or 40 pieces. Then crumbling Bonkers cat treats on top. Now she is eating the chews that way. It was something I had to do because she is impossible to pill. The vet could not even pill her!
