I put bulb in to get it up to temp before putting my newly hatched chicks on box.. so glad I did! I went to see temp an hour later and it popped, flared and completely

Thank goodness I’d done this or I would have lost my chicks. I literally just got this and this never happened before and I hope it never happens again.. beware

I am just so thankful I tested the light before putting it near my chicks. The bulb exploded within a minute of having it on. Extremely disappointed.

Rather than being red glass this seems to just have had some kind of red coating which disappeared very quickly. Pretty worthless.
