Worked, but weird neck

XL fit my 63lb shephard mix: she was hard to find pjs for because of her size and these are also very stretchy, which helped. They worked for our purpose, not allowing her to get at a sore on one of her back knees. The legs were long enough to cover it, and she could not get out of them, but I did need to tape the leg cuff closed to keep her from pushing it up. Only complaint is how huge the neck is, which you can see in the picture of the lab, and another reviewer mentioned. If she was walking around in them, they pull down, and even with her huge poofy neck, they are "off shoulder" lol - I feel like she could have gotten out of them after a couple hours if I didn't fix the neck size (see the other review about this, and how they altered the size). But mostly my dog wore them to bed so she did not have to wear a cone, so it didn't matter too much.

Many pajamas have the problem of the neck stretching out around the dogs shoulders. I added a non-stretchy drawstring and these work perfectly while Shumba had a lower leg incision. I like the thin material for Houston weather and I took a chance on these as the rear legs were longer than most ive seen. To make the drawstring, I opened the collar at the shoulder seams, reinforced the openings, and tacked the drawstring at the back of the neck. The string does not risk choking as it rests on his collarbone while the garment naturally pulls downward, never upward. My vet asked about the brand and where I found them, so I want to get in here with advice on HOW they worked so well for us.

These pjs are adorable but way too big for my medium Jack/Chi. I had to take in 1 1/2” across the back and 2” across her hips so it would fit properly. I had to triple hem all the sleeves. Otherwise, wonderful fabric, well made and very cute. I measured her before ordering and the tag on the pjs says med so I don’t know what happened. I do love the quality!
