We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

My older dog started getting finicky about what she would eat. She has no problem eating Darford cookies. Bought this food as said limited ingredients. She loved the smell and ate it. Twice after eating it (different weeks), had stomach squeals and diarrhea. I had to give her pepcid to make her stomach feel better. Now back to square one, where she won't eat. I wish companies would stop putting probiotics in everything, hard to find any food without it. They don't know what's in my dogs gut, to guess what my dog needs. Now I can safely assume my dog is most likely allergic to the yeast / fermentation type of probiotic. A person has to be a scientist to figure out what to feed their dog now and spend hours researching.
