When transitioning to a new pet food, do so slowly over a period of about 7-10 days, mixing an increasing amount of new food with old food each day: Start with 75% old food mixed with 25% new food for approximately three days. Then mix 50% old with 50% new for approximately three days.

My dog has been experiencing mystery digestive upsets and diarrhea on and off for well over a year now. The vet has been very dismissive and just put her on Hill's prescription food (which I hated because I think their ingredients are awful), but not long after she refused to eat it and still had bouts of diarrhea. I switched her to Dave's bland diet two weeks ago, and so far so good. She eats it right away and has had normal stools with Probios mixed on top.
My little girl loves this dry food so I try to keep it for her all the time I feel that it's a decent nutritional value for her. I also love the convenience of her dog food being delivered to the house.
So much training is needed with a new rescue dog and giving them this dry delicate food is a easier on a nervous stomach. They love this food! (Give as treats!) 5 stars dry food, Dave’s delicate stomach
I have a 2 year old Wheaton terrier, after transitioning to adult food we had difficulties finding the best one. Our baby started having non stop diarrhea, throwing up, not eating, the list goes on. We went to countless of vet appointments trying to figure out what we could do, the vet just kept feeding us different medication after medication. Our poor fur baby was eating Chicken and rice for 6 months because we couldn’t find a food or a solution to his tummy issues. We finally decided that maybe our vet wasn’t right for us, so we got a second opinion. They recommended a vet prescription food and that still didn’t make our baby better. Finally I went to our local pet shop and asked which dog food is best for sensitive tummies and they pointed out Dave’s Restricted Diet dog food and MAN was it our life saver. Our baby is striving, we never had to go back to the vet or specialist. I am so thankful for this dog food, if your fur baby is having tummy issues I HIGHLY recommend this dog food!
I bought this to add to my dogs Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein which is a prescription food. It is getting to be almost impossible to get and I wanted to use something canned to extend the kibble so I am using less of the over $100 a bag kibble. My dogs really like this and in a pinch have had to eat mostly this when the RX food was out of stock. I have discovered that they have solid stools on this as well and am slowly now taking them off the RX food and switching to this. One of my dogs is an 11 month old puppy so I was worried he wasn't getting enough protein and fat from the RX food so now I don't have to worry. This product is really great!
My Cairn terrier has a very sensitive digestive tract & this is the first dog food he has tried that he doesn’t have mild vomiting in the morning before he has breakfast.
Siberian with sensitive stomach. On Purina Lg Breed Chicken. Worked for a while then stopped eating it. Went with Dave’s on recommendation from neighbor. She loves the food. Wish stool was a little firmer though. Time will tell.
Buddy is 10 years old. He has always had very good quality food but has always been the poop-iest dog. Like 6 or 7 piles a day. I just assumed that was the way his system works. A few years ago, he had an issue with peritonitis and the vet suggested lower fat food so we switched from Merrick grain-free to Canidae Life Stages Less Active. The last couple months though, he started to drink so much water and had to go out to pee every half hour. The vet checked him all over, blood work and everything, and he is fine. We switched to Canidae lamb and rice and the crazy drinking went away but he still was pooping like a champ. I was on Chewy looking for reviews and found Dave's Bland Diet. Maybe this is what he needed all along. He now poops once or twice a day, no crazy thirst and he loves it. Of course, Buddy eats absolutely anything so his liking it doesn't really mean much. This is not the most inexpensive food but it seems like his body is actually using more of what he eats.
This seems to be working so far. Stool is firmer. I wish Chewy would carry the Dave's Senior dry food,
Great food but shipping can be an issue. I would not buy a bag that looked like this
