Other types of phosphorous binders (calcium based or aluminum based) cause constipation in catney one is made of a different material that is said to not cause (or reduces the risk of) constipation. For cats with chronic kidney disease, phosphorus is very hard on their kidneys, so phosphorus binders are often used to reduce high phosphorous levels in the blood as well as reducing phosphorous levels in cat food for those cats that do not like the prescription renal/kidney foods (which most don’t).

Also, it’s not clear to me why they say once per day because then how does it bind anything from their next meal. It’s not still binding because two hours later you can give medicines.. all this to say is their customer service and instructions are lacking for such an expensive product. I like it but i need more information.
Finally - my cat will eat it
I've tried several other phosphorus binders & my picky cat wouldn't touch the food no matter what. This is the 1st that he doesn't mind it mixed in. It's pricey

Shipping was too late, and it was very difficult to administer
This arrived about eight or nine days after I ordered it, I only got to give one dose to my cat before I had to say goodbye. It probably wouldn’t have helped too

It probably wouldn’t have helped too much in Metro spec so I guess it’s really no one‘s fault. Even if I had gotten it earlier, getting a cat CKD and next to no appetite to eat any food as a challenge, let alone food with powder. A pill form might be helpful.

Will know next week after bloodwork is done how effective the product is. The product came highly recommended by my veterinarian.
