Sand substrate
This substrate is one of my favorite inert I have ever bought. Not fine sand like you think but not to big either. Works great for my neocaridina shrimp. Just order another for tank set up. Only con is you get about 5lbs per bag. To me that is just enough for thin layer in 10gal 10 for shrimp.
Better than expected
I ordered this sand in the green. The green is a nice rich, deep green which shows up really nicely under both low red/blue lighting and bright white/blue lighting. No sedimentation. I used this small bag to top up/brighten the black sand in both my betta tank and my 40 gallon community tank. The cost isn't bad if you're using this to mix in with another sand (all my tanks are black sand), but I'm not sure it would be affordable to do an entire large tank with it.
Smaller granules than expected
I got this to mix in with my existing substrate in a 15gal community tank with neocaridina cherry red in it, I currently have Seachem Flourite black in there as a substrate and wanted something with a bit smaller granule size to fill in some of the low spots and be 'better' for the shrimp in the tank. The size of the granules is tiny, like beach sand size, which will easy slip down thru the Flourite and just settle in the bottom of the tank underneath the existing substrate (my smaller 10gal has Eco-complete and would likely have the same issue). Also, the amount you get is not a lot and I would need at minimum 3 bags to feel like I might possibly have enough to do what I had intended. I'll save this bag and use it in a new nano set up. This would probably be good for a 5gal or less tank, depending on if you're using live plants in the tank, as you won't be able to get much depth for planting in a 5gal.
