Bale sizes vary regionally. Does this hold a two or three string bale? Here in CA we have three string bales that measure 45x22x16.

Currently, all of the Derby Originals patented 4-sided hay bags are designed with the size of 2-string bales in mind, although they can certainly be used for 3-string bales (they just won't be large enough to fit the entire bale).

The hay nut is very durable

I read other people‘s reviews about this net before I actually bought it. Many people talked about how strong it was and I do have to agree. It’sthe perfect size

I read other people‘s reviews about this net before I actually bought it. Many people talked about how strong it was and I do have to agree. It’sthe perfect size to fit large hey bell and it definitely stands up against my two mares that can be a little aggressive with their things all around. I was very happy.

Durability

We have Belgians and these hold up for them. Had a hard time finding bale bags that last and these do.

Finally, a hay bag durable enough for my Shetland pony.

Smokey the Shetland pony, reaper of hay bags, has destroyed many a model of hay bag. First damage is usually within a week or two, with frequent repairs necessary to keep said hay bag alive for a little longer. He breaks clips, snaps rope, and tears fabric. Not so with this monster of a hay bag. I am pleased to say that we are passed the two week point, and he has not managed to harm this new bag. It cinches on top, with d-rings being the only hardware. (No clips to break!) It is easy to load due to that same cinch-top design. I have put an entire bale in, and I have thrown a few flakes in. It works great either way. This thing also has some of the toughest looking webbing I've seen, with no fabric in sight to tear. Smokey says, "Challenge accepted!", but I do believe it will take him a long time to defeat this hay bag.

Should be bigger

This net holds only a 35-40lb bale. It will not hold a true 50lb 2 stringed bale. Not big enough.

Heavy Duty Hay Bag

This is the first slow feed bag I've found that my husband's big mule couldn't destroy in a couple of days. The rope closure makes it easy to fill and suspend

This is the first slow feed bag I've found that my husband's big mule couldn't destroy in a couple of days. The rope closure makes it easy to fill and suspend. I've had two of these bags for about a year now and wouldn't own any other kind. Adding martingale stoppers to the rope closure keeps the end loop from pulling through the rings.
