My two BC/ACD mix females have been incontinent since I adopted them. They had been spayed just prior to adoption, and two weeks later, after the hormones wore off,
My two BC/ACD mix females have been incontinent since I adopted them. They had been spayed just prior to adoption, and two weeks later, after the hormones wore off, they became incontinent. One of them very extreme, wetting the bed multiple times during the night. I tried Proin, herbs, acupuncture, many other supplements, urinalysis and other tests. Nothing worked but DES. She was on it years ago, but then when it became unavailable (illegal?) we switched to Incurin, which was a disaster. Years later, I switched vets and my current vet let me know we could get DES compounded, which was very expensive through a local pet phamarcy. Chewy to the rescue! I can't believe the difference it's made for my dogs' quality of life and my own. I give them 1 dose every 10 days, the bare minimum. This is essentially hormone replacement therapy for dogs. Read up on hormone sparing spay and neuter. I also put them on D-Mannose for a few months to get rid of lingering UTI that contributed to the incontinence; antibiotics didn't help. Hoping this will help other pet families struggling with the same issues.

I ordered this medication on a Tuesday. My vet's office approved the order on Thursday. Chewy compounded and shipped the order on Friday and I had it in my hands

You can't get much more efficient than that (well, I guess my vet's office could have moved a day quicker). And, since my vet's office was having the medication compounded and sent to THEM, adding a charge when it was sold to ME, I saved a good amount of money by having the medication compounded by Chewy and sent directly to me (a LOT of money). I'll be ordering this medication from Chewy in the future and comparing Chewy's prices for other medications as well. I have two old dogs with multiple medical conditions. Caring for them is wildly expensive. This has been a big help.
