My cat hated the liquid children’s diphenhydramine the vet recommended so I tried this chicken flavor and he hated it even more. My cat ran around the house drooling giant globs of saliva for about ten minutes. I think he’d rather have the allergy symptoms.

After consulting with my vet, I ordered some tuna flavored Benadryl for my cat. She needs some relief from her hay fever. Currently, she receives Felanorm twice a day. It is unscented. So twice a day I mix the prescribed amount of Felanorm with a tiny bit of her wet food and add a few drop of Salmon oil. She licks the dish clean. When I mix the Tuna flavored Benadryl with her wet food, she will not touch it. I added Salmon oil and she still will not touch it. So now I am stuck with $40 worth of Benadryl. It is frustrating because there is no way I can test the quality of the compounded Benadryl.

My senior rat terrier refuses to take pills in treats anymore, so the liquid route is the way to go. The compounded chicken flavor is her favorite. She knows when it is time for bed and her siblings get pill pockets, she gets her syringe of chicken flavored benadryl. This has been a lifesaver for when I have to work late and I have to ask a family member to medicate her at night time.

Didn’t pan out as hoped

I was happy to try this alternative to administering the pill orally. Our cat has successfully taken other liquid medicine but he would not touch this unfortunately

I was happy to try this alternative to administering the pill orally. Our cat has successfully taken other liquid medicine but he would not touch this unfortunately. Less of a complaint about the product but it just didn’t pan out.
