How long does a bag last?

Answer by ChewyOct 14, 2024
One bag can last up to 3 weeks for 1 cat.

Will it work in automatic litter boxes?

Answer by ChewyJul 20, 2025
Dofu Cat litter works with automatic litter boxes that have bigger grates for the litter to fall back to the tray. It may work with Instachew and Petsnowy. However, Litter Robot doesn’t work well with pellet litter.

I normally use corn litter, but I find a lot of kitty footprints everywhere. But this offers most of the same positives but with ZERO tracking. Nothing. It clumps well (I wouldnt flush it though - those clumps are too tight and firm) it doesnt smell, no tracking, made from food waste, no scents or additives. The only thing the other “best” litter does better is that it can flush. I think the trade off of no more cat paw prints all over the furniture is worth it. One bag is one litter fill IMO.

So far so good. I followed the instructions for introducing my cat to this new litter by mixing a ratio of 25% new litter to 75% clay litter. Gradually increasing the percentage of Dofu litter. Lily took to it right away. It smells fresh, literally no tracking so far. The clumps are so easy to sift and remove, leaving nothing behind, and no dust, which is not the case with clumping clay litter. I clean her litter box twice per day, a.m. and p.m., sometimes more often depending upon usage. The result is a cleaner environment for her, which makes us both happy! I recommend trying it, It’s the best litter I’ve used in my almost 50 years of experience with litter boxes and many cats! I used Dr. Elsey’s Cat Attract for years, which is a good clay litter, but very dusty and tracked easily. Had to find something better for me and for her.

I got this since I was looking for a low tracking, dust free litter and it definitely hit those marks! It also surprisingly blocks odor pretty well when my girl makes solids. But! the only thing is my girl likes to pee against the wall of her litter box, meaning the litter clumps against the side of the litter box, and it absolutely sticks like wet cement ! I’ve had to scrape against the litter box walls to make sure I get all the spoiled litter. If your cat doesn’t have a habit of peeing on the walls of the box this may work great for you ! However for others just be ready to have to do some scraping to clean their waste properly.

Less dusty

My cats track it through the house less, there’s minimal to no dust when I’m scooping, and it lasts longer before needing to have a complete change compared to clay

Neat stuff that you can flush down the toilet

The litter clumps up nicely and you just put in the toilet and break it up some and flush it down.

I was excited to try this litter since it is unscented, biodegradable, and seemed non dusty. I wish I could have used it, but my 3 cats did not tolerate it. Even with a slow introduction mixing it in little by little with their current litter for weeks, they really avoided it. I belive it was the texture they disliked. They are all close to or over 10 years old and maybe too set in their ways to give it a try. This litter isn't crazy hard like pine pellets or anything, it's just different. Like all cats are different, maybe it will work for other cats I have in the future one day, it was worth a try!
