I was looking for a waterproof suit that covers the legs for my Skye Terrier. He has long hair and short legs and he loves the snow. This suit is well made but he wouldn't even stand up once he got it on. I think he did not like the fleece lining. I followed the sizing chart but it was too small in the neck. Overall this is a nice jacket but it did not work for my dog.
Great waterproof and reflective at night. But it didn't fit and the draw strings on the leg kept sliding down and the string quickly fell apart. Not the best for my little guy.
I purchased a large for my 25lb cockapoo. The length was perfect. I recently shaved her down so there is space when her hair grows back. It arrived last night & I used it today. She was dry except for her head because there is no hat. What's up with that? An all weather jacket with no hat. I took away 1 star because of that.
I would recommend upsizing your choice after determining the correct size. The XS I got was nowhere near the correct size despite using the sizing dimensions given.
Just perfect fits my dog perfect and keeps him warm
This snowsuit is definitely high-quality and some thing that I almost wish came in adult size lol. Eli is only 6 pounds but he’s got an awkward shape body he’s got very long legs and a very long skinny torso so a lot of times sweaters and jackets are not long enough on top or underneath. Although my dog doesn’t love wearing it it appears to be quite comfortable. It definitely appears to be waterproof windproof and has a really nice soft fleece on the inside lining. It’s actually loose enough because my little guy is so skinny to probably fit a sweater under there which is even better.
What a great coat! The legs are long enough to provide extra coverage, but short enough to allow her to run around. Ginger is a 50 lb Vizsla, and this is a size large. She is long legged, and barrel chested, with a small waist. (oh, wish that were so for me, too. Alas.) Her fur is Uber short, and she really needs a coat in bad weather. We have trouble fitting her, but this fits well. It is loose enough, that in very cold weather, we can add another layer. The outer layer seems hardy, and has held up so far, through several outings bushwhacking through the snowy woods, all the way. It appears water repellant, and was dry inside. The inner layer is thin, and in very cold weather, this dog will need an inner layer. It is probably quite adequate for a dog with a thicker coat of fur. And, we’ll say it again. We love Chewy! Thank you.
I love that this coat closes on the back & seems to give the dog ample protection in the weather. We get a lot of snow where I live & I was looking for something to keep my dog warm & dry as she doesn't seem to have much of an undercoat. When taking my dog on long walks/runs she tends to get a back leg stuck inside the suit. She has shorter legs (she is a mixed breed, but is slightly bigger than a Jack Russell) so I am unsure if that is part of the issue. Getting an excited dog's back leg unstuck is frustrating and tricky!
Wish I had found this years ago! Does a great job of keeping my dog dry all over in rain and snow! Keeps those pesky snowballs from getting stuck all over him (he is a mini golden doodle) especially when paired with bootsocks. On super cold days add an underlayer for warmth as the fleece lining is very thin. I sprayed it with Scotchguard to give it extra waterproofing.
I have a 6lb dog who gets cold very easily. I thought maybe he would feel more confident outside in the winter if he felt warm and cozy, and oh wow he did! He was a little reluctant wearing it inside, but once we got outside he started zooming around and pouncing in the snow! I was shocked that he didn't seem to get cold at all, and between this and booties he only got a little bit of snow balling around his ankles. I wish I'd bought this earlier.
