A family member scoffed at this idea, but I did it anyway. A neighbor was doing major work on his house and this is where I procured the section of sewer pipe. He obtained the male & female connectors for me, glued them to the black pipe (apparently regular pvc glue should not be used on sewer pipe) and pronto, no more bending over or my Golden Retriever attacking the water from the nozzle (tho we always play afterward!). I’ve had this set up less than a month when my daughter mentioned the bathtub was draining slower (always been slow). “Uh-oh!!” I then researched residential rough plumbing mapping and am relieved to learn that on top of running the hose down the pipe, all the house water also flushes every thing right to the clean out access and into the city sewer system. That same neighbor suggested and will help me run plumbing overhead in my garage, then alongside the house so I have a faucet right into the pipe. He’s OCD about everything done on his house, so looking forward to the project. Or I can pay the plumber who lives two houses away. So glad I did this!!!!
Tried this after tiring of the outdoor trash bag stank from the heat. Fits on standard sewage pipe perfectly, allowing for po oper scooper to dump in wide opening while “flushing” with a nearby hose.
I am not one to normally write a review but this makes poop removal so much easier. No more bags of smelly poop in the trash can or landfill. My only regret is that I didn't invent it myself.
This little product is genius! So clean and sanitary. We have 3 dogs and it seems like all we do is pick up doodoo. This is a must have.
I always felt bad for the garbage collectors with all our bagged treasures in the trash can every week. This is so much simpler and far more sanitary. Dog waste is going where it needs to go. Easy to install if you have access to your sewer cleanout and it couldn't be simpler. Having a water supply nearby helps to do a quick rinse.
I'm so happy to find this!!! I have 1 small, 1 medium, and 1 large dog. That's a lot of poop! No way was I going to dig a 4' deep hole then spend money regularly to purchase chemicals for a doggy septic tank. Putting waste in a garbage can outside was nasty and smelly. I was putting the waste in the woods behind my house until I found out doing such attracts rodents and could contaminate ground water. This installed easily and is easy to use. Much more sanitary than my other ways. Personally I don't use a hose to flush it. I have been just been waiting until I do laundry, scoop the poop, then when the washer drains, poop goes away. My washer is really close to the clean out this is installed on, so it offers some pressure. I did find to be careful not to put too much poop at one time because of the risk of blocking the sewer line. I can't attest to how it holds up over the years, but after a month, it seems to be holding up fine. Thrilled I found this!!!
I was between this system and the 'dig a hole' one. So thankful we chose this one!! Easy install, easy use. Works perfectly with our two large dogs! My youngest son is easily able to collect poo, dump it in the funnel and flush it out! No smell, no FLYS, no problem!! Also, our largest chewer has not even bothered it!
I bought this product before our fur baby arrived. She has been with us now for two years. It was easy to install and works very well. I have recommended it to all my friends. We keep a very clean yard and we don't have to worry about smelly dog doo in the garbage.
For the last few years I was using the "Doggie Dooley" and recently was having drainage issues on the 2nd hole I dug earlier in the year. I was reluctant to dig a third hole and have the same issues and was looking for an alternative when I came across a video for the "Doggie Doo Drain". Thinking it was an interesting concept, I talked to my hubby (retired enviromental engineer) about it and he said it sounded like a good idea to try it. I've been using it for the past week and could kick myself that I didnt discover it years ago! I could have saved myself time, money and clean-up time, no smell/flies to tend with, no bags of doody in the garbage or landfill, its hidden from view and very simple to install...
Works perfectly. No longer have to use trash bags for the land mines my dog leaves around the yard.
