this is powered by a USB cable? does that mean it has to be attached to your computer to run? or does it just plug into any electrical outlet?

This Pet Feeder has a USB Data able that connects to an electrical outlet.
Does it make any noise to alert the pet that it's open? I have a dog who has to have medicine and often when I'm gone. So I was hoping this would work for the two middle of the day medications.

Dogness Mini Programmable Dog/Cat Feeder

I received the feeder about 2 weeks ago, and it's wonderful. My cat bugged me all day to give her more crunchies. She's discovered that "Mama" doesn't dole out the crunchies anymore, and she's adjusted to the new "schedule." I didn't buy it for her, I bought it for me! My senior cat has always had a feeding station for her food bowl and water bowl, so I put 3 bricks under a sturdy board to elevate the feeder.

So far, so good

I was hesitant to buy this feeder because several people report it stopped working after a very short time. I decided to take my chances. I've been using it only for a few days. I didn't have trouble programming it, and it's just what I needed to bring my cat to a better weight, and to keep her from waking me up up in the middle of the night. I really, really hope it works for years to come. I'll update my review if it breaks down. I hope not!

This cat feeder has been a "catsend"

So far, this automatic feeder has done the job as advertised. It has operated on a set of batteries for 15 days so far and the low battery indicator has not shown yet, but I'm only feeding Mia 2 times a day. A volume control on the recorded message would improve the product and it would be nice if the company could make one that is sealed against the weather so it can be used outdoors. It's physical shape has made it difficult for Mia to grab onto to turn it over. Some mounting tabs on the bottom would be nice also for mounting into a surface. It holds a bit more than the 6L that is advertised which is good.

Exactly what i wanted.

I wanted a small but good feeder for my cat. I have a townhome, so space is kind of important. This one is perfect for a cart, it holds a lot of food yet does not take up much space. It also is really easy to program, like easier than a coffee maker. Like it a lot, I just ordered on in the green color ( i got white) for my daughter and her cat.

Mini programmable dog & cat feeder

I purchased this item because I have already diabetic cat who cried for food during the night. I have 4 times to spread out and dispense her food, now she's happy and I am getting to sleep all night! Plus she thinks she's getting more food but it's her normal allowance just spread out since I control how much is dispensed each time. That makes her Vet happy

stopped working after a few months

it was fine when i first had to program it, it was a little tricky given that i had to guestimate how many servings would fit but after a few months it would start to dispense food at times where I hadn't programmed it for and it keeps doing that up until now.

Working great after 1 year

I've had this feeder for 1 year now. I originally thought I would just use it for when I was away but I found that using it daily helped to eliminate the begging every time I'd go in the kitchen. Instead of expecting food from me my kitty knows she'll get it from the feeder when it's time. I love the smaller size and look. But I do find the screen difficult to read especially if you don't have perfect lighting directly on it. I've seen other feeders with a backlit screen and wish this had one.

Reliable feeder

I have it for 2 weeks now and I love it, my cat, Phiwi too. The time and the food portions are easy to setup. Food comes out right on the time set. I did not have to use the voice recording option because when food comes into the steal bowl Makes a loud noise, bringing my cat from wherever she is. I live in a 1 bedroom so I can definitely hear when food drops.

cute small automatic feeder

Love this tiny automatic feeder, I like the fact it can be plugged in and have backup batteries. I like the stainless steel bowl and it is easy to set up the option up to 4 meals a day and easily turn on and off some of the meals. I like the small size. The recording doesn't sound exactly like me and sometimes it took a while to record as you have to hold the button down just a certain way. The recording is not too loud but it repeats itself after each unit serving and right after all has been dispensed. The hardest part may end up having to clean it out but so far I haven't had to clean it quite yet.
