Great fit but wrong handle

I learned that I need a handle that runs along my dogs spine for better control, which for me is the only reason he needs it. But he is 117 pounds, and I had far less control with the handle along the base of the harness. Not just because of the placement but because of my hand position turned out instead of along my side where I have most strength.
