LOVE this shampoo! My GSD has sensitive skin and allergies - especially to fragrances, and so do I. The "hypoallergenic" allergy shampoo my vet sold me had a strong, synthetic fragrance that irritated his skin. In searching for a new shampoo I found that many of the "natural" options have a vague "coconut soap base" as their primary ingredient, and many also contain strong fragrances. Pass. This one hasn't caused any irritation, smells amazing thanks to some added essential oils, and best of all it rinses out incredibly easily - cuts bath time by about half. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.
Cleans fairly well. Not sure how well it protects.
Washed both of our dogs with it. 1 bottle barely does 2 Mastiffs. Washed them and a week later they feel greasy. Not sure how well it protects. Smells ok though

Our girl is allergic to everything! After a bath with this she takes a very rested nap! Smells so good and doesn't take much! Love this!!

A Disappointment
I am willing to spend what it takes to rid my poor dog of her severe itching, but this apparently high-end, natural product only worsened her problem. She is scratching

She is scratching more than ever just three days after her second bath with this product. I bought four different shampoos recommended for itching (this was among the best-rated, alas) , so on to the next one. Wish me luck.

Even expensive veterinarian-sold dog shampoos often list "coconut shampoo base" before listing a string of natural "add-ins" -- but I suspect that "base" is a standard commercial synthetic product. Since I've been using Dr. Harvey's, my dog has stopped both (1) losing clumps of hair (she's a poodle mix) and (2) near constant licking of herself. Great choice for sensitive doggies.
Excellent For Dogs With Itchy Skin

Wonderful for allergies
I live in the Midwest and my dog is very allergic to the pollen in the spring. She breaks out from neck to tail. This has helped her so much more than an allergy
I live in the Midwest and my dog is very allergic to the pollen in the spring. She breaks out from neck to tail. This has helped her so much more than an allergy shot from the vet or Benadryl. She has either zero to few bumps from the outdoors. The shampoo smells great as well. The shampoo is a tad expensive but if you read the ingredients you can understand the price. I would also recommend using a rubber brush to apply the shampoo in order to use less of the product and distribute it effectively.
