Foods Made to Match Your Pet

When shopping for Dr. Tim's pet foods, you'll notice the labeling indicates an activity level. That's because they're made to complement your pet's lifestyle, with ideal ratios of protein, fat, carbohydrates and fibers to help her thrive. You'll find recipes that are specially formulated for active pets, low-key pets, extreme athletes and those in need of weight management.

Active

ACTIVE: This food is designed for the sporting dog that's active more days than not—dogs who hunt or jog every day, herding dogs, police dogs and the like. It's made for maximum digestion, an important consideration for these dogs that's often overlooked. Protein types and levels, fat types and levels, and fiber sources are formulated to maximize performance and recovery.

Casual Lifestyle

CASUAL LIFESTYLE: This is a diet intended for the dog who lives a normal lifestyle—sleeping on the couch, running around the backyard or going on car rides, walks or hikes and basically just living the good life. The only regular exercise she might get is tail wagging when she sees you at the end of the day, or some loving nose nudges.

Extreme Athletes

EXTREME ATHLETES: This food is for dogs who are serious about working nearly every day for long periods of time, such as sled dogs and dogs who hunt most days of the season. It's extremely high in fat, high in protein and low in carbs, with the highest levels of essential omega-3 fatty acids and loads of antioxidants. Performance, endurance and recovery are all enhanced.

Weight Management

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT: This diet is intended for the dog who has put on some extra weight. High protein allows your overweight dog to be more active, and moderate fat allows her to feel satiated so she doesn't beg—an essential part of the equation. The omega-3 and antioxidant profiles help reduce the inflammatory stress that's prevalent in an overweight dog, too.

  • dog would not eat

I use all Dr. Tim foods and treats. I got the Nature Clean Triple Genuine, Both my pups don't like them. Don't know why, it really surprised me because they love all the other treats. May try feeding them to the chickens. :-)

  • My dog loves tripe!

For those of you who can't stomach the smell, they have no smell whatsoever. However, I use smelly treats in my training so I wish I read more carefully. My girl loves them though!

  • NOT green tripe

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

Well I was looking for green tripe but got these "clean tripe" in a green label by mistake. These are not the same thing and from what I've read, do not have the same benefits. Real green tripe retains some of the helpful bacterial while these clean tripe have been power washed which cuts down on smell but also gets rid of the benefits. Other than that, my dogs do enjoy these a lot so it's not a total waste. The texture is a bit like jerky, I didn't experience any rawhide-like pieces.

  • Pom adores this

    By on

I adopted a kennel dog who had never had much pet experience. He's not sure what to do with a number of toys or treat items, but he has no doubts about this. It's his favorite. He's not a strong chewer, and for a 10 lb dog some of the pieces are on the large size, so I cut them up into chips with scissors. Large dogs may find some of the smaller bits better as a food topping. Some pieces are kind of greasy, but the dog doesn't mind it. I haven't noticed much odor to it at all, but he seems to sniff it out just fine.

  • More like rawhide...

    By on

These looked like a freeze dried treat, but my dogs had a terrible time trying to chew them. They kind of turned into more of a piece of rawhide Did not like them at all

  • Good Product

    By on

So far so good! There is absolutely NO ODOR, which is great! My older little dogs seem to have a problem chewing it since they have had some teeth removed. But, my shepherd has no problem whatsoever! He loves it! I haven't tried soaking it or using it in food, but they have been good so far when using as a daily treat.

  • My cat is addicted to these treats

    By on

My Bengal cat loves freeze dried tripe and I can't find it locally. Ordered these treats and she approves! The pieces are a little large for a kitty, so I just cut them with scissors. I have to keep the package locked away or she will try to break into them. My only gripe is that they are pretty expensive. Only one out of two cats will eat it, but had a cat that this was the only kind of treat she would eat.
