I definitely regret buying this for my chin, and he feels the same way. He’s had this for the past 1.5 months, and he has been restless. With his old cage, when I would let him out to run around at night, he would eventually go back into his enclosure when he was ready to be done running around, but now he avoids going back into his cage. He may be 13 years old, but it’s not enough space for activities. His last habitat was about the same size, but this one doesn’t have a level that extends across the entire length/width of the habitat. And that has made a HUGE difference in his happiness. I plan on buying a new bedroom for him. I can see how this would be a good home for a ferret, but not a chinchilla or a bunny.
Overall great, although missing a connector piece and one of the clips on one of the shelf came broken.
Thanks to Hurrican Ida, I'm rehabilitating a baby squirrel (no good deed goes unpunished) . I needed a cage quick but was having trouble finding anything decent in stock, most I came across had poor reviews. This had none, so out of desperation I wrongfully assumed no reviews were better than bad reviews. Complete waste of money, which was a lot. The pieces were scuffed and extremely cheaply made. Assembly was HORRIBLE, and I have a degree in engineering. The stability of this cage is worrisome and leaves me highly concerned about the animal's safety. If you are looking for a cage for your furry friend, please do not purchase this one. If I had the energy to unassemble or the luxury to wait for something decent, I'd load it back in the box and return...but assembly already left me with PTSD. Only good thing - this is temporary housing until I can safely release the squirrel back into the wild.
