Set up the cage properly by putting perches at different heights to encourage movement. Include water and food dishes in accessible spots. Add toys, swings, or chewables for mental stimulation. Position cage away from drafts, direct sunlight, or extreme heat/cold. Always close doors securely after feeding or interacting. Keep small objects, electrical cords, or toxic items away from the cage. Remove visible droppings from perches, toys, and trays. Change paper liners or substrate in the bottom tray daily. Wash cage parts with mild soap and warm water weekly and avoid using harsh chemicals that can harm birds. Rinse throughly and dry completely before replacing birds.
