What type of wood is this made of? Is it safe if chewed on?

This small pet platform could not be made level no matter what I did. The platform itself had only 2 points on the short side to attach it to any cage & was flimsily

This small pet platform could not be made level no matter what I did. The platform itself had only 2 points on the short side to attach it to any cage & was flimsily attached to the brace holding those 2 points. It continually fell out with a loud wump several times before I gave up on it. I cannot actually recall the birds ever getting on it & they love standing together on their platforms. Do not waste money on this.

I ordered 4 of these for my pigeon’s indoor cages. 2/4 of them arrived with the flat play already wobbly, not properly adhered to the base plate. I put one of the flimsy ones in the pigeon cages and within a day, just their walking on it made it fall apart. The ones that weren’t flimsy are holding up so far.

Don't purchase unless you are willing to add extra wood glue and staples for support. My chinchilla jumped down on it and it broke off from the base. There are only a few brads that are set in too deep and very little glue. I had to fix both this rectangle one and the corner one from the same manufacturer. My chinchillas love them but they are cheaply assembled. However, the rounded corners are nice.

Plan to have screws and screwdriver if you buy these

So I bought 10 of these for my less than 2.5 lb bunnies. All of them broke because they had these time nails holding them together. After we screwed them together

So I bought 10 of these for my less than 2.5 lb bunnies. All of them broke because they had these time nails holding them together. After we screwed them together with stronger screws and glued, they seem to be working ok. But the point is I bought them so I didn't have to build them. I would recommend looking for different ones unless you plan to fix them. Gave a 2 because they were salvageable.

Not very sturdy. It is a good size but the board felt loose even before there was any weight on it. I added some extra support by putting a stick through the wires
