How deep is the treat pocket?

Answer by ChewyMar 11, 2025
These enrichment toys don't have a limit as to what can fit inside, as they are meant to hold different types of treats for easy enjoyment. Due to how they're shaped, the hole does go all the way through, but it is constricted in the middle because of the shape. So the depth until the middle is 10cm for the large toy and 7cm for the small one.

Currently she's ignoring a thunderstorm to play with this - something that has never happened. She bites it, carries it, throws it the air so when it falls something might fall out. So far she hasn't chewed through it and she's a heavy chewer but maybe we're just lucky. I'd buy it again if she chewed through it probably. We put dry treats in it, they break a little when it hits the floor hard enough so crumbs fall out. That alone keeps her interested.

NOT for heavy chewers

This toy was delivered last evening. I put a little peanut butter in both ends and placed in the freezer overnight. My 10 month old lab has had it for 30 minutes

Durable

Definitely long lasting but even the small is too big for my five pound Yorkie puppy. I use it as a “magic” trick having her focus on my hand to see a treat I squeeze

Definitely long lasting but even the small is too big for my five pound Yorkie puppy. I use it as a “magic” trick having her focus on my hand to see a treat I squeeze out. It’s just too strong and big for her to manipulate a treat out. Does however keep her attention while she tries though.

Definitely not chew proof

Within about 5 minutes, my dog had chewed through pieces of the toy to get to the treat. I had to take the toy away for fear of swallowing the plastic. Disapp

Not appealing to our dog

We loaded both ends eith a "cookie" but the cookie has to be placed partially in to be effective. Once the cookie is eaten, there was no interest.

Starting to break

I have two labradors, both around 80-ish pounds. My younger pup is just over 1 years old and enjoys chewing. I don't necessarily consider him an aggressive chewer but he definitely has very strong teeth. I purchased two of these with the hopes that I could slow them down when eating bully sticks. I even spread some peanut butter in them and froze for longer lasting treat. It worked initially but eventually, my younger pup would get in a mood b/c the bully stick or peanut butter was stuck deep down inside. I eventually noticed that the enrichment toys were starting to show cracks/fractures. Any more and it will break off - and knowing my pup, he will swallow. I really appreciate Chewy's wonderful customer service. I reached out and was able to return both items. If you have a gentle dog, perhaps this product could be good enrichment. Unfortunately, I think my younger pup's strong teeth started breaking the two toys that I purchased. Would not recommend for strong or aggressive chewers.
