species appropriate?
This was shipped to us by mistake in our latest auto ship. I was intrigued by the packaging and how this food was marketed as holistic and complete. Upon checking the ingredients however, I was a bit let down! Nevertheless I did still want to give it a try with my two girls as a food topper or treat, and they seemed to enjoy this recipe just fine. Putting the palatability of this food aside, I don’t find some of the ingredients to be great additions into a cat’s carnivore diet. There are starchy items and thickeners like potato and guar gum included in this recipe, which I was surprised to see based on the outside packaging/description. While there’s probably nothing extremely wrong with feeding this food as a main diet, and my cats do seem to enjoy the taste, I know that it isn’t the most species appropriate option for them. Lastly, this food is quite expensive for what it is. Maybe the source of the protein is a bit better than other brands? I’d have to do some more digging. All things considered, I probably would not restock this item in my cats’ pantry, but they are definitely enjoying the shipment as a snack once in a while, which is good as it will not go to waste.
Cats not Fans
Initially, my cats wouldn’t touch this food. I honestly don’t understand why, because if looks like shredded chicken. One evening, my two young cats decided they liked it, and devoured it. I was thrilled, until two minutes later, they BOTH threw up! They never throw up food, so this was concerning. When I tried a very small portion the next day, they refused to eat it. All of my cats enjoyed and did well with the harbor fish flavor, so I figured they would like the poultry. I was definitely wrong.
Not sure
We have two Maine Coon cats, 1-year-old. We thought we would transition them to an adult wet food. I saw the reviews on this and it's holistic, but I guess my cats are picky. I had to pretty much take away their dry food, let them be very hungry before they would even touch this. If you do not have a picky cat, maybe it'll work. But I think my cats are brats, so this didn't work for me. Also, it gets all over the floor. They have a hard time keeping it in the bowl.
Scrumptious
They all love it Glad to find something that they really like. Looks good, and smells good. The hard thing with cats is you never know. Never try and outguess them 'cause you can't.
decent food
This is the real stuff - real chicken, finely ground (but not a pate). Pretty pricey - my cats like it, (just a treat) but they actually prefer the fish from this brand. Good food if you have the budget for it.

My two boys love the chicken as well as the chicken/liver food from Earthborn. It smells like human grade food and is impressive with the ingredient list...no "bad" things our fur babies should not be eating. It is a bit pricey, but I believe well worth the extra cost. It is not a pate, but shredded chicken with gravy.
Quality food
This is the closest and cheapest dupe to Tiki Cat you can find! Jesse exclusively ate tiki cat until it became too expensive, but he switched over to this brand just fine. We’ve had zero digestive issues and zero food leftover in the bowls after dinner time lol. Fair warning! If you leave it in a colder area, like most wet foods, it will coagulate.
Cats Are Crazy For It!
My two cats cannot get enough of this food since I switched brands a couple weeks ago. Even the picky eater that I usually have to coax to eat gobbles it up. I've always bought a pate and this is the first time I've fed them a shredded variety. Rave reviews so far! The only drawback is that it has less calories than a pate so we go through more cans a day. That's okay! It's healthy. They love it. I'm happy.
Got my kitten to take his meds with this!
My new kitten has issues with constipation. I got him to start taking his Mucilex mixed in this. I couldn't believe he could taste it in his other food, but he could. I used this to get him use to the Mucilex without the battle.
