Very Solid Boot but with Qualifications

This boot is very well made and the wide version is one of the few boots that fits hooves that are more round than oval. There are a few things to be aware of. Easycare recommends sizing up half a size, which is good advice. The inside bottom cup is hard plastic that will not appreciably change shape. So if the hoof changes shape a lot, this boot is not for you. Related to the bottom cup, if the heels are underrun, there is a good chance the top edge of the bottom cup will dig into your horse's heel bulbs. So these work best with somewhat upright hooves. These boots do work fine with 6mm (and probably 12mm) pads in to add frog pressure and extra cushion. Overall I find them to be an excellent boot.
Rear boots!
Rode a 13 mile trail through mud, streams, rock and dirt in some fairy steep terrain, and these boots held up great. No rub marks or sore spots when we got back
Rode a 13 mile trail through mud, streams, rock and dirt in some fairy steep terrain, and these boots held up great. No rub marks or sore spots when we got back from our ride. They were a little slick on the wet wooden bridges, so just keeping that in mind. Otherwise they are a great option for a horse that cant keep a shoe on to save his life. If the hoof is measuring in between sizes, definitely go up to the next half size. They were a snug fit, I did have to rasp a few chipped hoof wall pieces for his hooves to fit into the boot.
quality has not changed.

The fit was perfect
I have been using these boots for years on my foundation quarter horse who has very Wide sensitive feet and prone to laminitis. The wide boot fit perfectly.
