Important: To prevent the occurrence of skin irritations, the collar receiver should never be worn for more than 12 hours per day. Should your dog experience skin irritations from over exposure to the contact points, remove the collar receiver unit immediately and stop using your e-collar until all skin irritations are completely healed.
Training Tips
E-Collars can be used to reinforce commands your dog already knows or as a training tool when paired with leash pressure. It is not a replacement for basic leash obedience training, but a tool to allow you to better communicate with your dog.
For best results, use the least amount of stimulation required to get the attention of your dog. A calm and consistent approach to training will always produce better long term results.
It is highly recommended that aggressive dogs be taken to a professional trainer for evaluation before e-collar use.
We recommend first time users to immerse themselves in learning about the proper techniques or seek a professional e-collar trainer.
Battery Maintenance
Do not allow the batteries to get hot or be fully discharged, long-term store at room temperature and 50% capacity charge.
Troubleshooting
My receiver/transmitter is not turning on. Make sure the collar receiver is fully charged. Collar receiver light should turn green when fully charged while connected to the charger.
My receiver is not responding. Check the receiver's indicator light is blinking green and transmitter LCD is on. Check to make sure the collar receiver's indicator light is red when the stimulation button is pressed. Also, try pairing/syncing the transmitter to the receiver.
The receiver doesn't seem to provide stimulation to the dog. Remove contact points from the receiver. Connect the Test Light to the receiver and test for stimulation. If the test light is blinking, receiver is providing stimulation.
Max range of device has been decreased. Check transmitter's battery condition. Working range decreases when the battery level is low.
You cannot change the stimulation level for the remote. Make sure the 1D or 2D on transmitter LCD is blinking. If 1D or 2D icons are solid, you cannot change stimulation. You can unlock the stimulation at any time by pressing the stimulation knob for 1 second.

Can the Zen Mini Educator work on small and large dogs?
Yes, The smaller transmitter is especially well-suited for smaller hands or in situations where discreetness is important, and the small 2.4 ounce receiver provides plenty of stimulation for most dogs large and small.

Okay, first off, most of these negative reviews are likely due to those people not reading the user manual at all. As someone who read the user manual, this is an effective training tool, but you MUST do you research prior to using it. Far too many owners just winging it with e-collars and that’s not safe or effective. This thing comes with a ton of awesome modes, including modes to switch dogs (for multi dog), a mode which locks the stimulation level, and a Pavlovian conditioning mode. If you are thinking of getting an e-collar, get this one and do a lot of research on how to use it. Very disappointed and upaet

Purchased this early for my pup before large enough to feel comfortable with electric part. Only used vibrating option. Tried using the electric zap part today. It doesn’t work. It turned to “4” and hasn’t done anything beyond being stuck on that number and not shocking at all. I used it on my hand and nothing. Very disappointed and upset with this product. Only positive thing? It vibrated? Wish this was something replaced, but I doubt it will be. Ughhh. It’s charged, btw.

Not consistent

I bought this in hopes my siberian husky would start responding better to her commands. i’ve watched video after video on how to use the e collar technology collar, and our first training session (first time using it) i will press the button and get little reaction, but her attention. then next time (on same level) and she jumps like it hurt her. keep in mind this is on about level 10. i’m not impressed with my purchase let alone the 170 dollars spent. i’m going to try to figure out the problem, but i’m not impressed.

Tried to save a buck by going with a less expensive version. We replaced a collar we had for years with this product and lets just say....I made a mistake. Will be returning. Hopefully won't have an issue with that.

I ordered this for my mom's dog. He hates the cat that he's lived with for over five years. Miniature Schnauzer 11-12 years old. I was hesitant about finding the right correction level. When I finally did (20), it was magical! We immediately saw improvement. He still whines when he sees the cat, but he no longer charges and barks.
