What happened to the reliable Eheim aquarium heaters?

I have an Eheim Jager that is six+ years old and still working perfectly. I've been struggling to stabilize the two I bought in June 2025. One finally stabilized around 77 degrees. The other is erratic, and I had to take numerous thermometer checks a week because it would go from 64 to 80 within a couple of days. When it was high, I'd turn the blue dial down, and SOMETIMES it would go down. Today, the temp was high around 79. The blue is already set in the 60s! This is ridiculous. I finally pulled it out today and put another brand in the tank. Something has happened with Eheim production. Eheim used to be the #1 aquarium heater in the world.

Pricey but worth it!

I've bought two cheap heaters before this one and they never worked at all, but I struck gold with this one! It's controls are a bit confusing but it kept my Betta's

Good heaters, for the price

Have about 6 of these, good little heater, although each one had to be calibrated and was not set to the correct temperature.

Finally, a Reliable Heater That Actually Works!

I'm extremely satisfied with this heater. I’ve bought three other brands, both online and from local stores, and none of them worked properly. But this one is excellent

I'm extremely satisfied with this heater. I’ve bought three other brands, both online and from local stores, and none of them worked properly. But this one is excellent -it's incredibly responsive. As soon as the water temperature drops just 1F, it detects the change and starts heating immediately. Now my little turtle is happily swimming in water that stays at a consistent 81F.

I have always used Eheim heaters. This one was for a 5.5 gallon tank and was too long to be straight up and down so it is on a slant. The temperature did have to be calibrated, as it was running 5 degrees hotter than what it was set at, so be aware if you are putting it in an established tank with fish.

Happy Camper

Works great and very accurate, with calibration ability. What can you say, accept the company that stands behind their product. Warranting my unit that burnt out

Faulty thermostat

No matter what I set the temp too it 40 gallon tank was 81-85 degrees 3s. Calibrating thermostat was a bad system, or maybe it was just that mine wasn't assembled

Quality has gone downhill

Ordered two, one of them wouldn't calibrate, the replacement showed up broken, last replacement seems to be ok. Not really Chewys fault. EboJager made great heaters

Ordered two, one of them wouldn't calibrate, the replacement showed up broken, last replacement seems to be ok. Not really Chewys fault. EboJager made great heaters. I've been keep fish for 0ver 50 years, and they have been rock solid. When Eheim bought them, who I love, they removed the ceramic core which makes them more prone to failure. Worse part is they are so light, they float. Once the suctions cups fail, they will float to the top.
