Outside of my cats' obvious insult at my putting something on their fur, this has worked well on mats---two of my cats were born strays and have incredibly thick fur and although they groom themselves regularly it's hard to get all the mats. I'm not a fan of the scent but that's personal preference.
My senior kitty had grown some large mats. I used this product, combined with a Pet Republique metal comb and was amazed at how many I was able to detangle before he was over it. I’ll go back and do the rest in a few days, which will really let it sink in to the mats. Definitely recommend!!
the detangler works fairly well but I can't stand the intense rose water smell.
I have an older long-haired cat that has started to get mats in her fur. I would do my best to brush them out, but it doesn't always help. I researched some products, and found this one. It seems to work well - I was able to detangle some of the smaller mats - enough to brush them out. One of the larger mats needed to be trimmed away, but this helped the remaining part of the mat come untangled fairly easy. Some people mentioned the smell - I find the smell quite pleasant (it smells like rose water to me), and not too strong. It does go away pretty quickly. The cat didn't mid it at all. It does feel a little oily, but it gets absorbed pretty quick, and makes her fur all glossy and nice. I would buy again.
My kitty had a large hair ball that was able to work a lot of it out, except for the area closest to the skin. Used a pea sized drop on the remaining matted fur. And this product took care of the remaining problem. Only con is that’s its way too fragrant.
My cat is skiddish and it is hard to get her matting out when she hides for a few days. She had a huge mat that she just would not let me touch. I squirted a quarter size blob on it, because I knew it was going to take some work. I think it actually felt good on her because she did not move at all when i started gently combing the top of it. It didn't work all the way through, but it was a serious mat, and like I said, my cat is skiddish. Also, I couldn't find my SleekEZ (which I feel would've worked better), so I had to use the pet grooming comb. I could only work on it a few minutes a day, that's all she would let me. I never had to reapply the following days, it was still in there. after about 5 days, I finally got it all out and still have a full bottle. It smells great, but I still recommend washing it out when the mat is gone. Otherwise, it leaves her coat looking greasy.
This stuff is amazing! My cat had several huge mats in his hair, I squirted it on each mat and gently raked them out. It didn't take that long at all.
Our long-haired cat was forever getting knots and mats in his fur. We brushed him regularly and had tried several different products but nothing seemed to help. We had gotten to the point where we were just cutting his fur to remove them. And then we tried Survivor Super Detangler. It is AMAZING and has made a world of difference. The smell is a little on the “loud” side but does go away, and it is a little “oily” but that goes away as well. We will most definitely keep using it and would highly recommend.
Worked well to loosen my cat's mats and make it easier to cut and groom. Has a pleasant smell.
This stuff is great to free the poodle's hair from tangles! Love it!
